About me and my therapy practice
Alison Paice - Integrative Psychotherapist & Supervisor
MSc (Psych); BSc (Hons); PG Adv. Dip CBT(REBT); EMDR Therapist. PG Dip Supervision.
I am a BACP Accredited Integrative Psychotherapist & Clinical Supervisor, working in private practice. I use a range of therapies, including Humanistic, Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to work with people who are struggling with psychological difficulties - from severe and complex mental health problems, to those who simply want to understand themselves better.
I believe that the therapeutic relationship is a central component of successful therapy, which is why I provide a warm, supportive, non-judgemental space where we will work together to identify your concerns and come to a shared understanding of your difficulties in order to enable and support change.
I have extensive experience in workplace health and wellbeing and currently work as an affiliate psychotherapist for several Employee Assistance Providers (EAP’s) and Insurance Companies offering brief intervention, solution focused therapy.
My post qualification training in Trauma focused CBT & EMDR therapy helps me to provide specialised short term, goal orientated therapy to individuals who have experienced developmental, situational or complex trauma. I have experience of providing trauma support to the Emergency Services, having worked in-house for the London Fire Brigade, and I have also provided trauma focused counselling on an ad hoc affiliate basis to British Armed Forces employees.
Having previously practiced as a Registered Midwife, I have a special interest in Women’s health. I combine my extensive midwifery experience and trauma training to provide counselling support to women in the ante-natal and post-natal period and specialise in birth trauma and post-natal depression.

About me and my therapy practice
About me and my therapy practice
I am a BACP Accredited Psychotherapist and a qualified Clinical Supervisor. I work in private practice and currently offer supervision remotely, via a secure on-line platform.
I have many years of experience as an accredited psychotherapist and counsellor in a variety of settings and have a Master’s Degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy and a Post Graduate Diploma in Integrative Supervision for Groups & Individuals.
I work as a counselling supervisor, alongside my work as an integrative psychotherapist.
I am passionate about my role as a supervisor and the part that it plays in enabling therapists to do the best for their clients, and equally important, to look after themselves. I aim to provide a nurturing and restorative environment for supervisees to help replenish mental and emotional energy through the supervisory process, in addition, to promote positive modelling within the supervisory relationship.
I believe that supervision can provide a confidential space where the supervisee can develop their skills and resources, where they can explore the impact of their work and find new ways of seeing - whilst ensuring the safety of the client remains paramount. I see supervision as a collaborative relationship of trust that can be both challenging and supportive, underpinned with mutual openness, respect and understanding.
Part of the supervisory relationship will be in encouraging you to develop your own way of working - in building confidence, competency, skills and knowledge - leading to increased trust in your own process and deeper understanding of your work in your relationship with your client.
My approach is essentially integrative, incorporating psychodynamic, humanistic & behavioural modalities.
As an accredited psychotherapist and trained supervisor, I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework & the BACP Supervision Competence Framework.
If you are in need of supervision please contact me to discuss further.

Practice description
I provide supervision for counsellors and psychotherapists with seven areas of focus which encompass the client, the therapist, the supervisor, the relationships between therapist, client and supervisor, and the wider system or organization.
The Supervisory Model & Framework I will use to structure our supervisory sessions is the The Seven Eyed Supervision Model (Peter Hawkins and Robin Shohet in 1985).

The first appointment is for us to get to know each other a bit better.
We can use the time to discuss what your goals are for supervision and any concerns you may have. In addition, it is useful for me to get an idea about the context within which you work and any expectations or requirements arising from this.
