About me and my therapy practice
I provide early bereavement intervention and bereavement counselling, enabling people to adjust following bereavement, loss and change, focusing on what it is like to be human in a world where time to process grief is usually very limited. The process of grief is widely misunderstood and is often underestimated how much it affects us on a day-to-day basis. Grief work can help process all that is involved following the death of a loved one.
Feelings of anxiety and depression can be alleviated by enabling a person to build their self esteem and develop self awareness. This in turn helps them to be more confident to make decisions. Feeling better equipped to make decisions happens by reflecting on and challenging existing behaviours, thoughts and feelings. Some existing behaviours are simply outdated or just not relevant to a particular situation.
I work with an integrative approach drawing from mainstream theoretical perspectives. I am a highly empathic counsellor and use an integrative approach, using the insights and techniques from a range of counselling models to help provide a unique therapy for each client’s individual needs.
