About me and my therapy practice
I am an accredited Humanistic Integrative Counsellor/Psychotherapist with over twelve years experience. I offer professional psychological support in a dependable, calm and confidential environment, where you will have an opportunity to explore your feelings and to understand yourself and your life from a different perspective. The aim is reduce confusion and to enable you to make informed choices, manage challenges, or to make positive changes.
The process involves making connections and then identifying what changes can be made in your life. Therapy also encourages you to recognise and consider what cannot be changed.
Before becoming a counsellor/psychotherapist I spent several years working in broadcast news in the UK and abroad.
I am mindful to hold an awareness of my client’s view of the world. My experience has attracted a number of clients from various cultures, who have said they found it helpful that I am understanding of religious and cultural differences and show a respect for others' societal norms.
I am recognised by AVIVA, AXA and CIGNA.
Practice description
I run a private practice on the outskirts of Virginia Water, and work with young people and adults who are experiencing a difficult time. This might include relationship stresses, depression, anxiety, bereavement and loss, and low self-esteem.
As an integrative counsellor, I use several types of therapy, including CBT, person-centred, humanistic, psychodynamic and mindfulness. As I get to know you I promise to do my utmost to find the best way to support you.
I used to work for a charity counselling younger people (12 to 25 years) and also worked in a school counselling setting, so gained knowledge and understanding of the stresses younger people face, and I still offer that support in my private practice.
My first session
I offer an initial free telephone call of up to twenty minutes. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have about the counselling process.
If you decide to proceed, our first appointment will provide you with the opportunity to discuss your reasons for attending counselling and to consider the best way forward.
