About me and my therapy practice
I am currently offering face to face sessions in central and South Wilmslow. I also offer Zoom online sessions or walk and talk sessions in the Wilmslow area.
Thank you for looking at my profile and I'm guessing you feel I may be able to help you.
I'm predominantly person-centred and work in a relational way, believing the foundation of trust, safety and no judgement can help to pave the way for a successful counselling relationship where you will feel able to look at your concerns with me.
I encourage you to trust in yourself as you are the expert in your life and I help you to consider what is important to you and ways that you can face the issues that you're finding so difficult right now.
I can help you to find your voice, to use it and to be heard, whether that is for one to one support or as part of a couple or family group.
Practice description
I've been qualified for a number of years and I've worked with adults in face to face and online work. I created a family service for a Trafford Charity and have delivered family counselling with families for the last 8 years. I've supported families with family members from 5 up to 70+ years of age. I have experience of working with life limiting illnesses and currently see people who are affected by cancer for a cancer charity each week.
I've helped family members to listen to each other, understand each other's viewpoint and to communicate in healthier ways, ultimately helping them to feel closer to each other.
I've also worked creatively, through play, with primary aged children in a school setting for a national charity for 3 years. I managed a school counselling practice in another primary for the same charity, supporting school staff, parents and carers. Currently I'm counselling young people aged 12 and upwards for a local charity that supports young people.
Using compassion I encourage you to recognise and accept your needs and together we consider what is important to you. We then look at possible solutions or ways to manage the issues that are having an impact on your life.
I work with children through to older adults, individually or as part of a family, I also work with couples.
I commonly help people experiencing:
- relationship difficulties
- losses such as bereavements, family changes such as divorce/break up, losses due to on-going illness
- attachment issues from childhood, now affecting relationships
- trauma and abuse
- chronic illness or life limiting conditions
- depression and anxiety
- parenting difficulties
- family conflict
- companion animal loss and anticipatory grief
My first session
I offer a free 20 mins phone conversation to decide whether you feel you can connect with me. I also try to gauge that I will feel able to help you and that I will have the skills and experience to benefit you.
After the initial 20 mins, if you wish to continue we then arrange an appointment together to explore more of the picture regarding what you're experiencing and we gain a greater understanding of how we can work together and how our sessions could begin to help you.
I encourage you to ask any questions or share any comments you need to. It's important that you can be honest about whether you feel I'm the right counsellor for you and that you can openly share those feelings with me, without fear of any judgement.

About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced counsellor and counsellor based in Wilmslow. I've been in practice for almost 10 years.
I offer safety and a calm space to help you consider what you need to focus on. We go at your pace.
My clients find me to truly be attentive and have commented on how much I seem to understand them and actually be with them. I tend to experience clients who stay with me for several months/sometimes over a year, although I have experience of short term, goal oriented therapy also.
My practice is within a safe, dedicated space in my home which my clients have found to be very calming. I also offer walk and talk therapy in the Wilmslow area and practice via Zoom enabling me to provide therapy/supervision to clients and supervisees further afield.
Practice description
I work predominantly with loss and change issues. I'm a relational counsellor, trained in the Egan integrative model and mainly work in a person centred way.
I've worked with loss for Macmillan Counselling for over 5 years and also worked with loss and family changes as a family counsellor, developing a family counselling service in Trafford for a charity - where I've counselled families and delivered training to other counsellors and professionals.
I counselled primary aged children for a national charity for almost 3 years and then managed a counselling service in a different primary school for the same charity for a further 2 years.
I completed my supervision training with Macclesfield Counselling and Training Centre in 2018, using the Hawkins and Shohet 7 eyed model of supervision. I've supervised trainee and qualified counsellors in my role as a school project manager and also help facilitate group supervision with other family counsellors regularly.
I have extensive experience working with families, children and young people and also working with pet bereavement.
My first session
My first session is charged at £20 and we would look at the supervision contract together. We'd look to ensure we would both feel my supervision service would suit the needs of the therapist and that we both feel we would be comfortable working together.
