About me and my therapy practice

I am a person-centred counsellor which means I offer and hold a space of understanding, acceptance, and authenticity that is ultimately led by you. We can explore together what you are experiencing and how you can become a better you.

Whether it's the pain of grief, loss, anxiety, depression, stress, or self-esteem, I will support you in a confidential, non-judgemental, and empathic way to enable you to understand yourself and alter your way of being.

Practice description

By working alongside you, I give you the space to explore any feelings, emotions, and experiences for yourself within a safe environment. I see you as the expert on you. My counselling is based on a relationship where we work together but you decide what you want to talk about and the direction of the therapy. It is an ongoing process that can be challenging but aims to lead to further self-acceptance and understanding.

I work either face-to-face or online  and at your pace. Therefore, it can be either on a long-term or short-term basis.

My first session

I do not like the word assessment; I prefer to use the phrase 'getting to know you'. Therefore, I provide (at a reduced rate) a session whereby we can get a feeling of each other.  You can see if I am the right person for you but it also enables me to gain a greater understanding of your situation and get a sense of whether I am right for you.

About me and my therapy practice

I currently offer supervision face to face, in a lovely, relaxing room, in Crewkerne. Or I can work via Zoom or telephone. After over ten years of working as a Counsellor, I was encouraged by peers to become a Supervisor.  My qualification is the Diploma in Clinical Supervision, and this enables me to work either individually, or with groups. I aim to provide a collaborative and reflective space where you, as a supervisee, can grow and develop a greater understanding of your client, and maybe of yourself as a counsellor. My role is a mix of education, mentoring, holding the ethical position, and ensuring your safety as well as that of your clients. I work within the guidelines of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Practice description

My supervision is based on the Person-Centred Approach where the core of supervision is the relationship that will be created between you and me. Fundamental to that relationship is a good rapport and working alliance. This reflects my own counselling practice.

I feel very passionate about supporting other therapists to develop their own potential, and areas of specialist interest, and I have a wealth of experience with adults and young people.

My first session

In our first session, we will introduce ourselves, seeing whether we might be able to build up a therapeutic alliance.  If applicable, we will go through the necessary paperwork, and arrange mutually agreeable times for meetings.
