About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is John. As a counsellor, I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment where you can freely express your thoughts and feelings. I firmly believe that each individual possesses their own innate healing capacity, which can lead to self-actualization.
I pride myself on my strong interpersonal skills, reliability, flexibility, and cultural sensitivity. I approach every session with hope and optimism, while maintaining a deep self-awareness. I am comfortable conducting sessions either online or over the phone, and I excel at gently probing for deeper insights without causing distress. It’s crucial to be attuned to the dynamics of your client ensuring that they feel safe and supported as they start, to open up.
A great counsellor embodies compassion, empathy, respect, and authenticity, fostering a genuine and trusting relationship with clients. In my experience, the three most essential attributes for a counsellor are empathy, active listening, and adaptability.
With over 11 years of experience of different clients and working within EAP settings, as well as with private clients from Mencap, I have encountered a wide range of issues. I’ve learned that, regardless of the challenge you face, counselling can provide valuable insights into yourself and your concerns, empowering you to move forward with renewed positivity, focus, and hope.
My role is to offer personalized support as you navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, anger management, relationship issues, and self-confidence or self-esteem concerns.
