About me and my therapy practice
Are you finding life difficult?
Or maybe you want something in life to change or to be different?
Working with a counsellor like me may help. I am someone a separate from your everyday life, who will not judge and will carefully listen.
I am a person centred Counsellor and clinical supervisor of counsellors with 7 years experience as an NHS professional and in private practice since 2015.
I don’t offer solutions and rarely offer advice or information. I do provide a safe accepting space for exploring your life and the issues that concern you, trusting in your ability to seek your own solutions and choices in life.
I’ll do my very best to get some sense of what it is like to be you and will often tell you how I am experiencing you. I will never fully get what it is like to be you, only you can do that.
My guess is that many people visiting these pages are considering whether to contact me as a therapist, maybe feeling like their is little choice, in life at this time. Perhaps a very simple definition of counselling is the "exposure and exploration of choice". I have a real faith in your ability to move forward in life as you choose it.
I am additionally trained in Creative connections work, for those that want to choose it, including:
- Working creatively with various forms of art and movement
- Phototherapy
- Animal assisted therapy and as an option work with my dog in the therapy room.
Practice description
Counselling takes place in my home garden room which nestles in a natural and beautiful landscaped garden. Many clients say that they look forward to being in this natural peaceful place, perhaps a short break from their hectic other world. A head start for the therapeutic work.
Our work would take place during the daytime, my working days Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. I do not offer evenings or weekends I will try and offer early or late in the working day to accommodate a clients works schedule
I am situated in the North of Coventry and not served well by public transport so a car or lift is desirable.
Video, face to face or walk and talk therapy available
My first session
The first session is important as this is where we check each other out to see if we can work together. The relationship between us is important for therapy so I'm asking you to assess me, asking yourself whether we can get on. I also will be checking that I am suitable and that there is a sense that we could work together. You are probably getting by now that we work together to see what issues you will be wanting to work on.
Its difficult to pick the phone, text or drop me an email in the first place isn't it? Then the prospect of that first session could be hard to consider. You may be worried about what to say, nervous about what is going to happen, I get that and will help as best I can.
Sometimes it can be that you finally making that decision to seek out some help because you want something to change?
I can't change it for you but I have faith in you to change if you choose to.

About me and my therapy practice
My approach to supervision is grounded in the person centred approach.
The supervisee is the best expert of their work and the way they practice and as such I work with the supervisees experience of the client rather than with the client.
I will share any knowledge and experience that is relevant, but eventually work towards a meeting of two professionals and a shared learning process.
