About me and my therapy practice

I originally trained in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Counselling and have been practising for 23 years. I work with a variety of issues including: depression, anxiety, relationship issues, loss and bereavement, work/academic stresses, transitions and eating disorders. I see both adults and adolescents from the age of 14 years upwards for both short and long term work. I also supervise both qualified and trainee therapists.

Practice description

I have two practices: one is based in The King's Rd Chelsea and the other very close to Notting Hill Gate tube station. However, at present, I am working remotely on Zoom due to the pandemic. I am hoping to return to my practices in the next month, when it is safe to do so but will also continue to offer remote sessions if needed.

My first session

In the first session, I will carry out an assessment, which will last for 50 minutes, in order to assess if I am the appropriate therapist for the client and to see if we would be able to work together. If I felt the client needed perhaps a different approach, then I would endeavour to make an onward referral or to at least suggest some options and give some contact information for a colleague or organisation.

Practice description

I see both trainee and qualified therapists for supervision in both of my practices and also offer remote sessions.

I would suggest having an initial session in which to ascertain if  both myself and the supervisee would be able to work together. We would also discuss the ways in which we practice and perhaps start to look at some clinical work.
