About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I am Paula. I'm a Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor with over 10 years' experience of supporting people with their difficulties and troubles in life. I hope to be able to support you with anything you are struggling with right now.
Practice description
You can talk about anything which may be causing you distress or making you anxious. This may be a current situation you find yourself in or a past experience which is impacting your life now. I will help you to explore your thoughts and feelings and help you discover a way through them so that life sits a little easier with you.
My first session
An introductory session is a chance for us to get to know each other and for you to see if I am the right counsellor for you. You can ask me any questions and talk through what you would like from counselling (please don't worry if you don't really know that answer, we can figure that out together). There is absolutely no obligation to book in for further sessions if you don't feel comfortable or if you don't think that my type of counsellor isn't quite what you are looking for.

About me and my therapy practice
I hold an Advanced Certificate in Clinical Supervision including Online and Telephone Working and my supervision approach is informed by The Seven Eyed Model, developed by Hawkins and Shohet. As with my counselling work I place great importance on the relationship between the Supervisee and the Supervisor and the space I hold for you is a place where you can bring your stuck moments, your ethical concerns, your insecurities, your frustrations and your successes as well as a place to explore practicalities of running a private practice or talk through issues involved in working in different settings. You will find me supportive, gently challenging and a sounding board for bouncing off ideas
Practice description
Alongside my private practice, I have experience of working for charities (Women’s Centres and The Multiple Sclerosis Society), NHS Minds Matter, Marriage Care, Place2Be, various EAPs and offer counselling in an adult residential setting. I work with clients with complex issues and needs, sexual trauma, domestic abuse, chronic illness as well as relationship difficulties, work stress and anxiety. I have trained in couples counselling (Emotionally Focused Therapy) and offer online, telephone, face to face or Walk and Talk sessions
