About me and my therapy practice
I work online offering Psychotherapy, Counselling and Clinical Supervision. I have worked therapeutically with people for 25 years. I am also experienced in working on an international basis.
Practice description
I have extensive experience of working with whatever a person brings to therapy. I also have an interest in working with abuse, disability, disabling conditions, gender, self-harm, self-injury, sexuality and trauma. I have a deep respect for the differences that exist in people and it is this that reinforces my commitment to promoting equal opportunities as well as working with people in an anti-discriminatory way.
I began working as a therapist in 1999. In my first decade I worked exclusively from a Person-Centred perspective. Through my second decade and beyond I have incorporated integrative, embodied and relational aspects of the therapeutic approaches and modalities into my practice.
My first session
I offer a free Mutual Assessment Session - subject to availability. I do this because I recognise that one of the most important factors in any therapeutic work is the relationship between a client and their therapist. Without a strong working alliance the work will suffer. This is why I offer an hour of my time free of charge for you to meet with me. You can then decide for yourself if you would find what I offer of value and I will also let you know if I feel that I can be of help to you. What I can help with
Abuse, Anxiety, Bereavement, Depression, Disability, Identity issues, LGBTQ+ counselling, Loss, Personal development, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Self-harm, Sex-related issues, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Stress, Trauma, Work related issues

About me and my therapy practice
I have worked as a clinical supervisor since 2004. I have a wealth of experience supervising both individuals and groups. My aim is to bring about a developmentally nurturing, supportive, respectful and where necessary appropriately challenging environment, where thoughts, feelings and issues can be freely explored and reflected upon.Practice description
My supervision practice has a grounding in Humanistic Psychology, Humanistic Philosophy and the Person-Centred Approach. Alongside this I hold knowledge of a number of psychotherapeutic theories that I study both independently and as a member of an ongoing professional development group convened by Michael Soth, focusing upon integrative, embodied, and relational aspects of the therapeutic approaches and modalities. I have been a member of this group since 2015.
Through this continuing study and development I have brought forward an understanding of how to recognise, and then patiently gather and hold, and help you work with the opposing and confusing fragments of the enactments and ruptures that can often feel like a direct threat to the working alliance.
