About me and my therapy practice

With over two decades of dedicated service in the mental health field, I am Rosemond Amado-Taylor, a seasoned Integrative Psychotherapist dedicated to helping individuals and couples achieve holistic wellness. My journey into psychotherapy started with a deep curiosity about the human mind, behaviour, and the unyielding desire to help others navigate their most challenging experiences. Throughout my career, I have been committed to fostering healing and personal growth, integrating both traditional and innovative therapeutic techniques to address the complex needs of clients.

My extensive background includes a Master of Science in Clinical Counselling and Psychotherapy an accreditation with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and registration with the Association of Christians in Counselling.

Throughout my career, I have worked with a diverse clientele, encompassing various ages, backgrounds, and presenting issues. My areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, stress, loss & grief, and personal growth. I am particularly skilled in helping clients navigate life transitions and cope with stress through integrative methods that promote resilience and self-awareness.

My integrative approach is informed by a rich tapestry of techniques, including psychodynamic therapy, trauma-informed approaches, somatic-psychotherapy techniques, mindfulness and self-compassion approaches, cognitive behavioural techniques, and an internal family systems approach. I tailor my interventions to create personalized treatment plans that cater to each client’s unique needs and ensure an effective therapeutic journey.

In addition to my clinical work, I am a passionate advocate for mental health education and holistic wellness. I have facilitated numerous workshops and seminars on mindfulness, emotional intelligence, clinical supervision, and the integration of holistic wellness practices into everyday life.

Practice description

Clinical supervision provides a confidential, safe place for mental health professionals to explore their clients' work in a supportive and collaborative environment with an experienced provider. Clinical supervision may also refer to ongoing consultation with and support from other mental health professionals, though the technical term for this is consultation, not supervision. For example, therapists in the same practice may consult with one another about difficult cases or regularly review one another’s work. Supervision can sharpen a therapist’s skills, encourage self-care, and help prevent burnout.

Therapists have an ethical duty to protect their client’s best interests and provide quality therapy. Doing so can prove difficult. Clinical supervision allows you to develop strategies to enhance self-awareness and professional growth and gain perspective and insight in your clinical/professional work.

Supervision offers ongoing feedback from someone with more experience and skill. Rather than relying on vague principles from a textbook or classroom, you’ll get rapid feedback on real-world therapy dilemmas. Your supervisor can also provide insight into your style and guidance on how to sharpen your skills as well as how to adapt your style to the complex needs of diverse clients. As your supervisor, I aim to model safe ethical practices in line with the BACP Ethical Framework. Together the client is kept at the heart of our work as I support you in the development of your practice clinically, and theoretically.

My goal is to support and empower individuals on their healing pathways, creating a compassionate and collaborative therapeutic environment. In so doing, I aim to help clients achieve lasting transformation of wellness and self-care landscapes. I am truly honoured to walk alongside those who trust me with their stories and witness their resilience and growth. I look forward to welcoming and supporting clients on their path to healing and self-actualization.
