About me and my therapy practice
COVID is behind us but leaving its marks; the recession; ... doesn't feel like an easy time at the moment... You may feel very alone. Maybe you have gone through or are experiencing something traumatic, you feel stuck, anxious or even scared. Perhaps you have lost confidence and can’t see a way through, feeling that your self-esteem has been attacked or even crushed. Now might be a good time to be kind to yourself, to open up and reach out.
Today, some of us are used to working from home some of the time and we are still adjusting to a new normality. I am offering face-to-face as a preferred option but also WhatsApp, FaceTime or Zoom sessions. Don't hide if you struggle; it might not be easy to start with and that's ok too. But you will feel better at least for having tried.
With my training in Integrative Counselling (Person-Centred and Psychodynamic), I offer you a safe place outside of the situation which is non-judgmental, respecting and honouring. I believe that you are the expert in the room, and together we can begin to uncover, understand and accept these feelings, behaviour and consequential situations. This would be the beginning of finding ways of coping and growing, of you becoming who you are intended to be, learning to be kind to yourself and being set free from guilt.
I have 15 years of experience working with people with addiction (drugs and alcohol). I have also worked for the NHS IAPT programme and trained as a bereavement counsellor. I am based in South East London (SE4).
I am as comfortable speaking English and French, as I am originally from Belgium.
We would have an initial online conversation (Zoom, WhatsApp or FaceTime) to talk about what you would like to cover; for you to ask questions about the process; check availability and decide if we want to start working together.
