About me and my therapy practice

I offer fifty minute counselling sessions or in some cases longer for specific CBT interventions as required. Sessions can be at a frequency that suits you and your budget, can be in person, online on Zoom or Teams or on the telephone or a mix of these. I work in a person centred way using a relational approach to counselling or for those looking for shorter term more targeted therapy for anxiety, panic, depression or low mood I offer twelve to twenty sessions of CBT.

Practice description

I am a Registered BACP counsellor with over fifteen years of experience in therapeutic counselling, neuro linguistic programming, coaching and I have recently completed further training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (PGDip). I have many years of experience working with adults and young people in a variety of settings. I offer a warm facilitated space for people to explore their experiences in a confidential and non judgemental interactive way. Issues I can support with include depression and low mood, anxiety, panic, anger, loss and grief, pain, feelings of loneliness or isolation, career or relationship challenges or changes, parenthood or family issues. I do not currently work with couples or groups.

Usually we’d have a quick call to discuss a bit more about what you are looking for and if we feel I might be suitable to support you, we would organise an initial session.  

My first session

In the initial session we further explore how you are feeling currently, what has brought you to seek support, and what you would like to achieve from therapy at this time. I will run through a short measures/symptoms form with you. We can then discuss the most appropriate approach, talking therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy or coaching and agree frequency of sessions.
