About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced BACP Accredited Counsellor and EMCC Accredited Coach with over 20 years working with adults and young people with a wide range of issues, including addictions and compulsions, abuse, anxiety, anger management, assertiveness, bereavement, loss, building confidence, coping with worries and fears, family dynamics and general personal improvement & development.
I use an Integrative approach, which simply means my initial training incorporated a range of theoretical models and the emphasis of my work is on the healing power of the counselling relationship itself.
As a qualified coach, I can also support you with setting and focusing on your future; clarifying goals and intentions and taking steps towards the changes you want to see, however, small the steps might feel towards that in the beginning.
Practice description
Sometimes, we are unsure about our goals, what we want or why we are seeking help; we just know we want to feel better or for life to improve.
I can can help you see and understand any unhelpful, repeating patterns in your life as you start to make changes in how you think, feel and behave.
All of my work is currently online. Sessions are held weekly for 50 mins.
My first session
Our first session is also 50 min long and involves an initial assessment, which means taking a comprehensive summary of your current and past mental health, along with details of your goals for therapy.
It is also an opportunity for you to ask me any questions about how I work and what to expect from therapy.
This session is important as it helps to inform our ongoing work, should we decide to continuing working together after this initial session.
First sessions can usually be arranged with one week’s notice.
