About me and my therapy practice
When we find ourselves in a place where our thoughts, feelings or behaviours are impacting upon our daily lives, counselling and psychotherapy sessions offer an opportunity to understand why this is happening, make positive changes for the better, and move forward to where we want to be.
Since 2010 I have worked with hundreds of individuals and groups as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist, supporting a vast array of life circumstances and emotions that prevent people from leading their lives in the happiest and fullest way possible. Alongside my private practice, I've worked as a therapist in a range of settings including the NHS, corporate and voluntary sector agencies.
Practice description
There are four key areas that therapy sessions can support you with, these are:
Difficult emotions - whether you’re struggling with low self-esteem, feeling angry, or confused about things that have happened or are happening in your life.
Mental or physical health challenges - including depression, anxiety or upsetting health conditions/diagnoses
Upsetting life events - for example, bereavement, relationship breakdown or work-related stresses
Building self-awareness/identity - this can include exploring challenges around gender or sexual identity, along with other changes in life that lead you to question who you are or what you want from life
My first session
We’ll approach therapy sessions in three main stages as follows:
Introductory appointment - At our first meeting we’ll talk through how counselling and psychotherapy can help you reach your goals and establish the best way forward.
Weekly sessions - Following our introductory appointment we’ll agree a set time and day for us to meet each week for a 50-minute session. During these sessions, we’ll explore the difficulties you’re currently facing and look at a range of tools, strategies and options to help you get to where you want to be.
Review sessions - At agreed intervals (usually every 4-6 sessions), we’ll look at how sessions are progressing and where you feel you’re at in terms of your goals.
Sessions can take place either online via Zoom or in person at my Basingstoke office. Counselling sessions last for 50 minutes and the fee is £60 per session. To find out more please submit an initial enquiry and we can arrange a short 15-minute free consultation to discuss any questions you may have.

About me and my therapy practice
I work with a wide range of Supervisees at all stages of their counselling careers. For trainee Counsellors, as an experienced CPCAB Counselling Tutor and Examiner, I am familiar with a range of trainee-related aspects including report writing and assessment. For qualified counsellors, my work as a BACP Accreditation Assessor ensures I remain fully up-to-date with the latest governing body requirements and developments.
Practice description
I have worked as a group and individual supervisor for both youth and adult counselling agencies alongside working with supervisees in a private practice setting. My clinical experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist includes several settings ranging from voluntary sector agencies, the NHS and commercial environments to private practice and insurance-based EAP contract work. As a result of these experiences, I am able to support supervisees working in both shorter-term (goal-focused) settings as well as open-ended or longer-term relational and psychotherapy work. My work as a college lecturer in counselling and in agency settings means that I regularly supervise student/trainee counsellors in conjunction with providing specialist adoption and relational trauma-focused supervision to qualified practitioners in private practice. My supervision style reflects an integrative philosophy and is based upon the Hawkins and Sohet seven-eyed model of supervision.
My first session
Following an initial session to explore how we might work together, depending upon your supervision requirements we can arrange supervision sessions to take various forms including:
Weekly/fortnightly/monthly - at intervals to reflect your caseload and support needs
Hourly or 1.5hr sessions - to reflect the level of supervision time required
In-person or online - sessions can take place either in the town centre of Basingstoke or online using Zoom.
