About me and my therapy practice
I am a psychotherapist working in West London. Typically my clients come to therapy with distress, anxiety and depression as a result of an often complex mix of concerns such as bereavement, job loss, relationship difficulties, cultural displacement, abuse and trauma, inter-generational difficulties, infant and childhood experiences. I recognise it takes courage to seek help and that choosing the right therapist can feel daunting, so please email me if you would like to know more or would like to arrange a free initial phone conversation to talk through some of your concerns and how we might work together.
Practice description
There are many different approaches to psychotherapy. As an integrative psychotherapist I draw on a number of ways of working that emphasise and encourage increased self-awareness, understanding and personal growth. I am interested in how you make sense of your world, your thoughts and patterns of behaviours and how these may impact on your relationships and day-to-day life. I'm also interested in your infant and childhood relationships and experiences as I believe these can offer clues to how and who we are in adult life.
At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship. I approach each new client with a compassionate and open mind, tailoring the work to fit your unique needs. Together, within the safety of a confidential, non-judgemental and supportive environment, we will explore your difficulties, your physical and emotional feelings, and the challenges you feel you face in your life.
Often just being able to talk to someone new and unconnected with your life can, in itself, be a source of relief and comfort, and the start of a shift in thinking and understanding, which can lead to a more fulfilling life and enriching relationships.
My first session
Depending on what brings you to therapy, generally during the first session I will invite you to tell me a little about yourself, your current concerns, and your expectations of the therapy.
This first session is also an opportunity for you to ask me any questions, and for me to talk about how I work. Importantly it is a chance for us both to get an idea of what it might be like to work together.
I am a registered BUPA and AXA psychotherapist.
