Generally I work Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, although there is some flexibility in this. I work from 6.30 am (often this is useful for shift workers/those with caring or parenting commitments or early risers like myself!).
About me and my therapy practice
Hi Thank you for looking at my profile. I am a qualified and experienced Person-Centred counsellor with over 10 years in practice. My belief is that the relationship formed within the therapeutic setting is key for the client to feel heard, respected and empowered.
Finding someone to hear what you want to say, or often, what you need to say, is the first step in moving forward and processing experiences that might have been kept under wraps for a long time. I can provide a safe and non-judgemental space for you to do that.
I am happy to work with clients for long or short timeframes. Sometimes in life we all need a little support and acceptance. Taking the first step in finding a counsellor is often quite difficult, but taking that step can also lead to changes that make a huge difference to an individual's life.
If you would like to talk to me, please contact me by phone or email. I work either online or face to face.
Practice description
I love my work! I believe in what I do, and I believe in my client's ability to find their own way forward, while I walk along side them. I work online or face to face. I charge £45 per session, although concessions are available. I can work flexibly, and at a pace the suits the individual. If you would like to work with me, you decide how often you would like to come and for how long. There is no obligation for you to come for a set amount of sessions. I work with adults and young people. I have an enhanced DBS and I have worked in schools as a counsellor and as a teacher. I am also a counselling supervisor, and I work with both counsellors in training and qualified counsellors to support them in their work and development.
My first session
If you would like to work with me, if it is safe or practical to do so, I will send you an email with more details about how I work. If you are not happy for me to do this, we can discuss it when we meet.
I will ask you to fill in the client information on the first page, and either print it off and bring it to your first session or return it to me by email.
All of my records and information are stored safely and within GDPR and I am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office which sets standards and guidelines for the storage of personal information.

Availability
Hi I work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6.30am until 8pm to provide flexibility for shift workers, those with caring/parenting or work commitments and early risers like myself!
I am new to Christchurch and work online and face to face.
About me and my therapy practice
I have been a qualified Person Centred counsellor for over 10 years and I qualified as a supervisor 18 months ago. I currently work with qualified counsellors and counsellors in training. I am familiar with 4 way agreements with places of learning and also 3 way agreements between agencies, charities and other organisations.
I offer a concessionary rate to counsellors in training or those who are on a low income. My experience of working as a counsellor has meant that I have valued my own supervision and supervisor enormously, and I know how important having a safe space to share concerns, experiences and development is.
If you would like to talk to me about supervision, please do get in touch.
Practice description
I love what I do and becoming a supervisor has added a whole new dimension to my work, and my development. Because I have often worked with counsellors in training, I was approved by local training providers, and worked with student counsellors from 3 different colleges and one university in Sussex. I am new to Cambridgeshire and now have links with some of the local training providers.
I am non - judgemental and open, and I hope that if you work with me, we will form a relationship where you feel safe to explore any aspect of your work or anything that can impact on that work.
I work online, and despite being resistant to 'technology', I have found that this works well and enables me to work outside of the area I live in. I have just completed work on my therapy room in Christchurch, near March and Wisbech, so I can now work face to face again too.
I am registered with the ICO and all of my notes and records are GDPR compliant and I have DBS clearance.
As counsellors working within the BACP ethical framework, we are expected to commit to specific hours of supervision. I also offer my supervisees someone to call should some thing crop up outside of our regular sessions. This is all outlined in my working agreement, which I would send to you prior to our first session. If you would like to speak to me about availability and working together, please do get in touch, without any obligation to proceed.
My first session
Prior to our first session, I will send out a working agreement. We will discuss this during our first session and if you are agreeable, that will form the framework of our work together. If you would like to proceed, we will meet either fortnightly for an hour or every four weeks for 1 1/2 hours. This can either be via zoom or face to face. I respectfully ask that you pay before your online session by bank transfer. Should you want to work face to face, I take cash and I also have a card reader (or you can do an online money transfer before the session).
I will send out a zoom link invite at least 2 hours before we are due to meet.
If we are meeting face to face, there is parking available and I will meet you in the counselling room in my garden.
I like to do a review after 3 sessions to see how we both feel about the supervisee/supervisor relationship and ensure that we are both working in a way that is useful, ethical and trusting.
