About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Lesley. A therapist with over 20 yrs experience working with people in lots of different settings (inc 10+ yrs online). I’ve a MSc in-Person-Centered Psychotherapy, which means how I work takes into account that everyone’s unique. What brings you and what you might be hoping to get out of the counselling space is at the core of how we will work.
The professional, supportive listening space offers confidentiality, impartiality and understanding. Maybe this is for personal growth, healing, looking at options, building resilience or finding some solid ground. We all need to find our own best way forward, it’s not always easy, but finding what is right for you, at this time, will be at the heart of our working relationship.
I am also a qualified Mindfulness teacher and further details of psychotherapy, clinical supervision, Training and Mindfulness courses can be found at

About me and my therapy practice
I’m humanistic/Person-Centered in my approach. Working with practitioners with varying experience levels including those who may be in the process of qualifying and gaining experience.
Sometimes professionals seek a supervisor in the same tradition, but I equally embrace working across disciplines, whether that means differing theoretical understandings or from the wider scope of roles and professions that may benefit from some supervisory space.
I aim to bring in an attitude of curiosity, understanding, acceptance, patience, respect, and empathy.
I am clear about the responsibilities of being professional and ultimately never lose sight of the right of the client to a safe professional experience. Nor for the supervisee to also have a right to a safe, respectful, professional experience.
In 2004 gained a PG qualification as a clinical supervisor. I am an accredited BACP Senior Supervisor. I have been offering clinical supervision for over 20years to individuals and groups.
Practice description
I aim to meet you in whatever you might be seeking from the supervisory relationship at differing points in your professional journey and the needs of your own life. I will bring my authentic self, and my 20 years of experience, but at the heart of the relationship is you and your professional needs.
We can co-create a space; for you, your practice, inc the context in which you work, the various processes, the wider context for us all (political/environmental/historical), the relationship with me, emerging understandings from the field.
A space where there is a balance of safety and growth, raising awareness, clarity and selfcare. I’m happy to chip in when asked!! But often I find it is in the exploration, that ways forward emerge.
I am mindful of the working alliance, valuing it as part of the foundation from which the work of growth and exploration can occur. The supervisory relationship can grow to be a creative, joyful, challenging but safe and authentic space, hopefully restful and restorative too. We will need to find our own pace at each time.
I continue to maintain and develop my own practice as a therapist, supervisor, and Mindfulness trainer as well as the differing ways I look after myself to maintain my health and fitness to practice.
My first session
I am happy to meet for a free introductory session, perhaps half an hour. It is not always easy to find someone we are willing to try to build a working relationship with. Perhaps it is not the first supervisor you meet it may be necessary to meet a few supervisors, ask some questions.
Therefore our first session may be more of an approach towards each other, have some experience of the online space, my way of being. I’ll probably ask if you know what works for you, maybe a bit about the context in which you work. I’m just seeing if I’m a good fit and can sufficiently meet your needs. From there we can decide to work together, and cover some of the contractual boundaries.
