Practice description
I am an integrative counsellor which means that I offer you a safe space, without judgement, with empathy and honesty. The space is yours to explore what you are struggling with.
I intentionally use aspects of attachment theory, solution focussed therapy and trauma informed therapy on an as needed basis. I offer EMDR as part of the therapeutic package, not as a stand alone therapy.
Most importantly, I intend to stay alongside you and be fully present for you for the time that you and I are together.
My first session
Our first session is an opportunity for both of us to see if we are a good client/counsellor fit. I will take a short history and there will be space for you to talk about why you are interested in having therapy at this particular time. You will be able to find out more about how I work and what counselling with me might entail.

I currently have availability for qualified counsellor supervision.
About me and my therapy practice
I offer face to face supervision and supervision via Zoom and face to face to individual counsellors and psychotherapists. My approach to supervision is embedded in my belief that the supervisory relationship is the vehicle through which I offer effective supervision which can be restorative, educative and collaborative. I bring myself as fully as I can into our supervisory relationship and I hope that each supervisee is enabled to do likewise. My theoretical approach is humanistic-integrative.
The training that I have received and the certificate that I hold in Individual Supervision of Counsellors and Psychotherapists from Advanced Professional Training, in association with Strathclyde University is endorsed by BACP.
I am available to offer pastoral supervision to ministers and other members of the clergy.
My research into supervisees' experiences of an unplanned ending to the supervisory relationship is published in the March 2015 edition of the Counselling & Psychotherapy Research Journal.
Practice description
I have experience of supervising counsellors who work in a variety of settings such as the NHS including GP surgeries, voluntary organisations, university counselling services and private practice. Therefore I am experienced in supervising counsellors who offer brief and time-limited therapy in addition to longer term therapeutic work.
I am on the York St John University Approved Supervisor’s list and I currently act as a supervisor for trainee counsellors on CPCAB level 4 diploma courses. I have supported a number of counsellors in becoming BACP Accredited, please contact me if you wish to explore this further.
Fees: £60 per hour, payable by BACS 24 hours in advance of the session. Reduced rates are offered for counsellors in training. Our initial half hour session will be free of charge so that we can see if we will be a good supervisor/supervisee fit.
Please email me or call me on 07999583641 for an initial conversation if you are interested in exploring supervision with me.
