About me and my therapy practice
As a Psychodynamic Accredited Therapist - I have a background in Education and Community projects. I manage a small successful private practice and also work online, providing brief therapy to NHS and EAP clients. My experience spans various settings, including local authority (Hertfordshire County Council), Virtual school, NHS, primary/secondary schools, and charitable organizations.
I’m passionate about my work and the long-term benefits of ‘talking therapies’ and I am committed to making a difference to my clients’ lives.
I enjoy working with people and seeing the positive impact that a therapeutic relationship can bring. An effective and trusting therapeutic relationship can provide the catalyst for a positive change in your life enabling you to reach the right choices and solutions within your life.
My private practice is run from a site Hemel Hempstead. I offer therapeutic or supervision sessions face to face or online. Online sessions are offered normally to people in UK, as rules, regulations and insurance can be different according to the country client is in
Practice description
I provide a secure environment to explore your inner self and your interactions with the world. In our 50-minute sessions, we will collaborate to confront your challenges in a supportive and caring setting. By sitting with your emotions and understanding about your relational patterns, we can jointly initiate change. I offer both open-ended sessions, EMDR and brief counselling.
Open-ended individual therapy is an approach that offers insight through an awareness of our patterns of relating. This mode of therapy can address a wide range of difficulties we experience in life by sitting with emotions, identify how we have developed these patterns (early life experience) and gently challenging or accepting them. Resources such as Art and Play can be accessed to support process.
Brief therapy is a form of counselling that is time-limited and tends to focus on the present. It centres on the client’s presenting symptoms and current life situations, emphasizing the client’s strengths and resources. I might take an active and directive role, assuming a proactively working relationship with my clients.
