About me and my therapy practice

Do you need to talk to someone in a safe , non judgemental space?  To off load or untangle your thought's? To process the past or present? Are you considering therapy but are unsure where to start or how to begin explaining how you feel ? 

I offer a therapeutic space in which we can work together at your pace.  Therapy like life is a process, I will journey with you through this process providing a non judgemental therapeutic environment for you to be able to engage positively in therapy. Assisting you to gain positive self worth and confidence , as well as helping you  gain clarity, acceptance and understanding of your emotions, your life, your past and the world around you. Counselling and psychotherapy is a process by which  together we will work step by step through the issues and challenges which have brought you to seek therapy. This may include anxiety, depression worry, panic,sadness, adult or child trauma, loss and grief, self acceptance, relationship issues, relationship loss ( romantic or family relationships), workplace issues, low self confidence, loss of direction. 

I believe Counselling and psychotherapy have the potential to be the ultimate self care. Participation in therapy can help alleviate emotional pain and distress and bring hope and perspective. 

Practice description

I provide a safe space where you can explore your feelings and any issues or challenges you may be facing or want to look at.  I will actively and empathically listen to you , providing a confidential space for you to be heard, creating capacity for increased self awareness and personal reflection. The session hour is your safe space.  I provide  a safe, private welcoming environment. 

If you would like to explore creative therapy using items such as stones, art, sand, Visual imagery/cards, poetry , music , stories etc I am able to provide these materials. Sometimes This way of working can assist the therapeutic process when words are hard to find.

My first session

A free initial telephone contact can help to answer any questions you may have about counselling. This is usually around 10-15 minutes. This is of no charge. Also I respond to email questions to make sure your aware of the counselling process and explore and manage any expectations before the initial session. 

I will send you a client agreement to read through prior to our first meeting together. I will aim to answer any questions you have about starting therapy. The amount of sessions you have will be your choice.  some find it helpful with short-term therapy perhaps six to eight sessions while others request long term work. We will also regularly check in during our work to make sure your getting the best from your sessions.
