I am a qualified and registered member of the BACP, with my modality person-centred, and the founder and owner of Spread Your Wings Therapy.
In the counselling room, Person-Centred Therapy is all about creating a space where you feel safe, heard, and respected. The focus is entirely on you and your unique experiences. During our sessions, I will work to build a trusting relationship, where you can openly explore your thoughts and emotions without fear of judgment. This approach encourages you to be your true self and express your feelings honestly.
This means I will accept and value you as you are, without trying to change you or judge your thoughts, feelings, or behaviours. You are welcome to express yourself freely, knowing you will be met with warmth and understanding.
I also practice empathy, which means I will deeply listen to you and try to understand things from your perspective. By reflecting back your feelings and experiences, I aim to help you see them more clearly and gain deeper insight. This can help you feel more understood and less alone in your struggles.
In addition, I offer congruence, which means being real and genuine with you during our sessions. I won't hide behind a professional mask; instead, I’ll be transparent and honest, which helps build a deeper connection and trust. This creates a collaborative environment where you are empowered to explore your emotions and take control of your personal growth.
As you share your thoughts, I will help you explore your feelings in a way that allows you to build greater self-awareness. Over time, this leads to increased confidence, emotional resilience, and a better understanding of yourself. The pace of our work is entirely guided by you, as Person-Centred Therapy believes in your ability to find the answers you need. You are the expert on your own life, and together we can navigate the challenges you face, helping you grow and heal in a supportive environment.
Practice description
In my practice, I provide a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space for clients to explore their thoughts and emotions. My approach is Person-Centred, which means I focus on listening to you, understanding your experiences, and offering support without judgment. I aim to help you gain self-awareness, build confidence, and develop emotional resilience. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, stress, or self-esteem issues, my goal is to help you feel heard, understood, and empowered to make positive changes. Every session is tailored to meet your unique needs, and I work collaboratively with you throughout the process. I understand that starting therapy can feel daunting, but I am here to guide you with compassion and care.My first session
In our first session, I take the time to get to know you and understand what brought you to therapy. I offer a free 30min call to discuss your requirements. There is no pressure to share anything you’re not ready to, and I encourage you to ask any questions you may have about the process. I ask all new clients to complete a brief assessment to help us both understand your goals for therapy. This helps me tailor our work together to your needs. Please note, the first session is the usual rate unless otherwise discussed. I’m here to ensure you feel comfortable and supported right from the start. What I can help with
