About me and my therapy practice
Welcome to Peace of Mind - I'm Sara
Why did I choose to name my practice Peace of Mind? Because it reflects what so many of my clients say they've discovered on their therapeutic journeys. For them, peace is about moving from a place of anxiety and discord to a sense of wholeness. It's about building trust in their own ability to make life decisions, fostering deeper connections with themselves and others, and most importantly, feeling a sense of emergence into their true selves.
I understand that finding the right counsellor or coach is crucial for making the most of this process. That's why I offer a free 30-minute initial telephone consultation. It's an opportunity for you to ask questions, get a feel for how we might work together, and make an informed decision before booking your first appointment.
Taking that first step into counselling or coaching can feel overwhelming, but I’m here to make it as supportive and reassuring as possible. I hope your journey toward peace of mind begins right here with me.
I hold an Advanced Level 5 Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling. This training has nurtured within me a holistic approach, recognising the profound connection between a person’s psychological and spiritual dimensions. Regardless of your beliefs, I understand that these aspects are deeply entwined and inseparable.
I am also a Level 5 ILM qualified Coach, and Level 5 ADHD Coach. Advocating for neurodiversity is at the heart of my practice. I encourage anyone with a neurodivergence—diagnosed or not—to explore it, embrace it, and uncover the reasons behind life’s challenges. Neurodivergence is never an excuse but often an essential explanation, and understanding your own unique experience is the first step towards a life that feels easier and more fulfilling. To help, I offer Neurodivergence Workshops for those who self-identify as neurodivergent or are newly diagnosed, alongside individual and group coaching sessions focused on specific life issues.
Practice description
A Neurodivergent Friendly Approach
Where your neurodivergence becomes the heart of your journey to growth and self-discovery.
As a Neurodivergent Counsellor and Coach, I believe that neurodivergence is not something that can be separated from the rest of life. It touches every aspect of how we think, feel, and navigate the world. That’s why I provide a space to explore how your neurodivergence interacts with executive functioning, your nervous system, and your senses, helping you better understand yourself and how you respond to life’s challenges and opportunities. By embracing every part of who you are, you are better equipped to take meaningful steps towards the change you seek.
Having received my own diagnosis later in life, I understand how overwhelming it can feel to live without clarity about how neurodivergence shapes your experience. While I’m an expert on my own neurodivergence, I recognise that no two people are the same. Every person, and every neurodivergence, is unique. My goal is to support you as you explore your individuality and become the expert on yourself.
When the moment feels right, I may invite you to try creative therapies that could benefit your journey. I’ll also gently challenge you if I sense inconsistencies in your thoughts or feelings, always with respect and care. Most importantly, I will provide a safe and nurturing space for you to express your fears, anxieties, joys, sorrows, regrets, dreams, and hopes. My only request is that you approach our sessions with honesty, both with me and, above all, with yourself. In return, you’ll find me to be wholly empathetic, authentic, and non-judgemental.
Your neurodivergence is an integral part of who you are, and together, we’ll work to embrace it, tame the more destructive elements and through acceptance and understanding take this empowering step towards transformation and peace.
My first session
Whether we are working together through counselling or coaching, our first session is about getting to know each other. It’s a chance for you to share what has brought you here and for us to explore the aspects of life that are leading you to seek change.
This initial conversation is a gentle and supportive space where you can talk freely, without judgement or pressure. It’s an opportunity to reflect on what matters most to you and to begin shaping the path forward.
Every journey starts somewhere, and this first session is the foundation on which we will build together.
How I work with you
My approach is flexible and adaptable, enabling us to find what works best for you. If, during counselling, you feel you would benefit from a more practical focus, we can switch temporarily to coaching, and vice versa. I always ensure these services remain distinct, respecting the ethical frameworks that guide them.
Your journey is yours, and you are always in control. If I ever feel that another form of therapy or a specialist’s expertise would be beneficial, I will share my thoughts and work with you to find the right support. Ultimately, every decision will be yours to make.
