About me and my therapy practice

My name is Joe Amos, I offer affordable online counselling sessions that are rooted in a person-centred approach, which means you have the inner resources for growth and change. My strength is in supporting those who feel anxious and trapped in harmful cycles to create lasting, positive change. I strive to listen without judgment, ensuring that you feel welcomed, respected, and valued throughout our work together. Research consistently shows that the therapeutic relationship is a vital factor towards achieving your goals. I believe that our connection will be at the heart of your journey towards positive outcomes.

Along with counselling I have extensive experience as a teacher both in Britain and abroad. I have also worked in various settings as a community support worker.

I also provide counselling through Physicians Anonymous, supporting doctors who are dealing with burnout and high levels of stress. You can find my profile here: https://physiciansanonymous.org/coaches-and-mentors/

As I work online only, it's important that you know I am registered with the ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office) and comply with UK data protection laws to ensure your personal information is handled safely and confidentially.

I have monthly supervision, both one-to-one and with peers, to ensure I’m working ethically and in the best interests of my clients.

Practice description

People seek therapy for many reasons—sometimes feeling lost, overwhelmed, or unsure of why they are struggling. Whether you are facing, anxiety, addiction, grief, trauma, relationship challenges, or major life transitions, it takes real courage to ask for support. Opening up about emotions that may have remained unspoken is not easy, but it’s a powerful step toward healing.

No matter how difficult things feel, you carry a strength within you. By exploring your thoughts and emotions with clarity, you can uncover insights that align with your personal truth. As you gain awareness and confidence, life may begin to feel more open, creative, and intentional.

I have a particular interest in (but not limited to) men's mental health, anxiety and addiction. During our sessions we will explore underlying issues that drive your behaviours and perceptions of reality.

You don’t have to go through this alone. I provide a safe, supportive space where you can be truly heard and understood. Together, we will navigate your inner world with curiosity and compassion, giving you the space to breathe, reflect, and reconnect with yourself. Whatever arises, we will face it together.
