About me and my therapy practice

I am a friendly, empathic, qualified Person Centred and Gestalt therapist. Developing a strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my work. I believe that the key to successful therapy is through a supportive and collaborative working alliance. Together we can unravel past hurts, get curious about behaviours that are no longer serving you and examine the things that really matter to you, in order to gain clarity and a deeper understanding of yourself. In my view, with improved self-awareness, anything is possible.

As we navigate the ebb and flow of life, there will be times when we feel isolated, stuck or lost. During these times, we may feel unable to reach out to those closest to us. Therapy can provide a safe, confidential space to share your thoughts and feelings and offer the opportunity to reflect on difficult issues with a view to finding peace, calm and purpose in challenging times.

I understand that coming to therapy can be daunting and so my approach is respectful, compassionate and non-judgmental. Our life experiences are always individual and unique and therefore, I tailor therapy sessions to each client.

"It is astonishing how elements that seem insoluble become soluble when someone listens, how confusions that seem irremediable turn into relatively clear flowing streams when one is heard." Carl Rogers

Practice description

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by their ethical framework. I undertake regular supervision of my work in line with BACP guidelines.

In addition to my private practice, I volunteer with Watford  Women's Centre and Cruse Bereavement Support and have worked with a community counselling service based in St Albans.

My first session

To ensure that I can support you with the challenges that have brought you to therapy, I offer a free 30 minute Zoom or telephone meeting to discuss your requirements.  I will also send you a copy of my contract which outlines how I work.  If you have any queries, you can raise them at this meeting.

Should we decide to work together, during your first session, we will complete an assessment and set your therapy goals.
