About me and my therapy practice
Life can sometimes be tough. We all need someone to support us through difficult times. You might be struggling with anxiety or depression, perhaps you are experiencing challenging family dynamics, or struggling with caring for a loved one. You may be finding life overwhelming at the moment and be unsure of how to move forwards. Perhaps you have experienced loss or are struggling with differing emotions. Maybe you are feeling very alone, and is if you have nobody to turn to for support.
I work in a humanistic way, which means that I believe you are the expert on yourself. I will not tell you what to do as you know what is best for you. Instead, I can offer you a calm, accepting space, in which I can help you to explore your thoughts and feelings, without fear of judgement. Together we can work collaboratively to identify themes and patterns in your life. This can help you work out what you need to move forwards you’re your life. Sometimes the deepest challenges can, ultimately, lead to the greatest growth.
I have worked with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, work stress, relationship issues, grief and neurodiversity. I have a particular interest in autism and have undergone additional training in this area, in order to best support autistic clients. In addition to this, I am a parent to two neurodivergent young people and have lived experience of the challenges of living in a neurotypical world. I also have lived experience of the challenges arising from trying to navigate complex systems in order to get support. I draw upon this lived experience when supporting clients, whilst also acknowledging that everyone’s experiences are different.
