About me and my therapy practice
As a Person-Centered Integrative Counsellor, my approach is rooted in the belief that every individual has the capacity for growth and self-discovery. My role is to create a safe, accepting space where you feel heard, valued, and empowered to explore your thoughts and emotions.
At the heart of my work is a deep commitment to creating a space where you feel truly heard, valued, and accepted. I approach our sessions with warmth and openness, without judgment, so you can explore whatever feels important to you. My goal is to understand your experiences and emotions as deeply as possible, seeing things from your perspective and offering genuine support. I believe that an authentic and trusting relationship is the foundation for meaningful change.
While I stay true to this person-centered way of working, I also draw on different therapeutic techniques depending on what feels most helpful for you. If you're struggling with unhelpful thought patterns, we might work together to explore new ways of thinking (CBT). If past experiences are shaping how you feel today, we can gently reflect on those influences (Psychodynamic). If you are having relational issues we might explore different aspects of your personality and how they influence your interactions, we can identify unhelpful patterns and develop healthier ways of relating to yourself and others (TA). I also recognize the deep connection between mind and body, so where it feels right, we can bring awareness to how emotions show up physically (Somatic).
Above all, my approach is flexible and responsive, shaped by what you need from our time together.
Practice description
I offer online sessions nationwide.
I have a therapy room in Basingstoke where I can see clients face to face.
I also have a site just outside Reading (RG6) where I can offer walk and talk therapy. If the weather is bad we can use a stable (for humans only, so comfortable but not heated) I can also offer Equine Therapy from this site.
I offer a free 15 min introductory phone call for you to ask any questions you may have and for us to get a feel for if we'd be a good fit to work together and I can meet your needs.
Fees:
Introductory call: FREE
Online and Face to Face sessions - £55.00
Saturday Rate - £65.00
Student Rate - £35.00 (limited spaces)

My first session
The free introductory call gives us a chance to talk things through before meeting. Deciding to work with a new counsellor can be daunting, especially if it's your first time. Below is a brief outline of what you can expect in a first session.
A first counseling session is about creating a safe and welcoming space while establishing the foundation for our work together. We begin by discussing the counseling contract, which outlines confidentiality, session structure, boundaries, and what you can expect from the process. This ensures clarity and a shared understanding.
Next, we explore what brings you to therapy, gently discussing your experiences, challenges, and hopes. Together, we consider what you’d like to gain from our sessions, setting initial aims that can evolve as we progress. There’s no pressure to share everything at once - this is your space, and we move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
Most importantly, the first session is about building trust and making sure you feel heard and supported as we begin this journey together.
