About me and my therapy practice
If you're looking to escape the chaos or distractions of home and work, I offer a 'fully immersive therapy' experience incorporating five 90-minute sessions into a 7 night stay at my hand-built cabin beside a stream in meadow surrounded by trees.
I’m a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist in my 60’s and I bring a wealth of life experience and, I hope, a little wisdom and a commitment to ongoing learning. I trained with Cruse, the bereavement charity, and work as a Bereavement Volunteer alongside my private practice.
My clients have ranged from 18 to 78, each with their own specific challenges. A weekly client has kindly written and agreed for me to share their testimonial:
"I was at an all time low, feeling I had no control of anything. I’d spent my whole life being a ‘people pleaser’. Through the course of sessions I had with Linda, I realised, with her help and subtle guidance, that I could change my outlook and my behaviour could change the way I dealt with my perceived problems. By looking at situations from a different angle, being more positive and confident, I’m moving forward and looking towards a fulfilling future."
In addition to regular weekly sessions, I understand the benefit of hitting the pause button and escaping from daily life and the constant demands of work and home. With seven and a half hours of therapy over five days in a peaceful, nature-filled setting, you’ll be able to dedicate yourself to your therapy sessions and have time for processing and reflection. This plays a crucial role in healing and creating lasting change.
The holistic approach of Adlerian Therapy is central to the 'Fully Immersive Therapy' experience, providing you with the opportunity to rest both body and mind so you have a clearer vision of what’s truly important to you. Some might consider it the ultimate self-care experience.

Practice description
At various points in our lives, many of us will face challenges such as work-related issues, relationship struggles, divorce, grief, low self-esteem, financial concerns, stress, anxiety or depression or perhaps feelings of being stuck, overlooked or overwhelmed. These difficulties impact our mental wellbeing and physical health. However, working through these challenges with psychodynamic therapy can have life-changing results.
I chose to train in Adlerian Counselling and Psychotherapy because of its positive, holistic approach. The Adlerian approach isn't new; it has been around for over a century. As a psychodynamic therapist, I focus on your development of self-understanding and insight while together we explore your long-held values and beliefs and resulting behavioural patterns. I will be supporting and encouraging you as you gain a deeper understanding of your feelings, behaviour and choices, helping you to consider more helpful perspectives and make positive, constructive choices. I work alongside you to help you achieve your goals.
I’ll also be there to witness the meaningful changes you make which will empower you to be the person you want to be and create the life you deserve.
Whether we’re seeing each other weekly via video link (you may find my West Wales hourly rate is less than you can find locally!) or in-person, or while you’re taking advantage of the Fully Immersive Therapy at Den by the Stream, we will work at a pace you’re comfortable with giving you the opportunity to speak freely and in confidence.

My first session
The first step is to get in touch with me. I understand it’s the hardest and most courageous part of your therapeutic journey.
You can contact me by email, text or phone, leaving the details of how and when I can get in touch and some options of what time is convenient for you. If you phone or text it might take up to 12 hours for me to get back to you, but do please leave your name and a brief message. I’m usually able to respond within a few hours.
During our first chat we’ll arrange a time for an assessment via video link and there’s no cost for this. This is also a good time to bring up any queries or concerns you might have. Afterwards you can decide whether you feel we’re a good fit and let me know if you want to go ahead with making arrangements for our first session.
The first session involves some necessary admin and an agreement between us of when and how we’re going to be working together.
