About me and my therapy practice

'You may feel that something isn’t right but struggle to identify the issue or express your emotions. Overwhelming feelings of confusion, sadness, anxiety, or anger can leave you feeling lost or trapped in unhealthy patterns. In seeking relief, you might turn to substances or other coping mechanisms, only to find they increase your distress. From my own experiences, I understand how challenging and unpredictable life can be, especially at the intersection of sexuality, ethnicity, and religion. In overwhelming moments, it can be hard to see a path forward and make decisions that support your mental well-being. Quick fixes might seem tempting, but they often lead to more harm for ourselves and those we care about.'

I qualified as a person-centered counsellor in 2022 and completed a BA (Hons) in Humanistic Counselling at the University of Chichester in the summer of 2024, and am currently enrolled in a psychology MSc program at the University of East London. I practice integratively and pluralistically, which means I meet clients with whatever they choose to bring to the session in a non-directive manner using a variety of varying modalities to meet my client's needs

Humanistic therapy is a type of talking therapy that focuses on helping people develop a healthy sense of self, find meaning, and ultimately live more fulfilling lives.

Practice description

In addition to the common mental health issues that many encounter, which include anxiety, depression as well as grief, addiction, and compulsive behaviours, my specialisms include trauma, LGBTQIA+ identity, LGBTQIA+ mental health issues, LGBTQIA+ substance misuse issues, intersectionality, and those affected by chems and chemsex. After working in front-line and addiction services since 2017, I also have vast experience in supporting clients who are neurodivergent and/or have dual diagnosis.

Whether online or face-to-face, all sessions are 50 mins in duration.

My first session

Prior to any formal commitment, I offer all potential new clients a free 15/20 minute online discovery call via Zoom to see how best I might be able to offer support or answer any questions you may have so we can both get a feel for what working together in the future might look like. This also allows us to get started from the first booked session.
