About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I work with adults aged 18 and above and have experience in a wide range of issues.Talking to a professional can be very helpful, although I understand that taking that first step can feel difficult. I will provide a space that feels safe for you to share your feelings and thoughts, somewhere you can be heard, seen, accepted and understood. Therapy is a place for you, where your feelings can be shared without judgement. Whether it’s a specific issue, past trauma or current event, I can work alongside you to explore your experiences and feelings.
My approach is psychodynamic which means that I can support you to explore past experiences and how they may be impacting your thoughts, feelings, behaviours and relationships now. By understanding what is going on, it is possible to make changes and move forward in your life. Integral to this is the therapeutic relationship, my approach is warm and containing, working at your pace.
As well as private practice, I have experience of working in the charitable sector as a counsellor, working with a wide range of people. I have also worked in charities supporting people to find their role after life changing events.
Prior to training as a counsellor, I worked in a corporate environment and understand the impact that work related stress, and challenges can place on mental well being.
