About me and my therapy practice

Hello I'm Cerys & while I'm based in North Wales I also work online (which can be great if you want to experience counselling in the comfort of your home surroundings).

My main aim is to provide you with a safe, judgement-free space to talk through any of your issues and concerns. The counselling room is somewhere you can be brutally honest, feel your emotions and hopefully use that space to find clarity. I've worked with a wide range of people and a variety of issues, and I approach everyone with the same openness and welcome.

I work from a foundation of person-centred counselling which means you are the expert in the counselling room.  However I do incorporate a lot of other techniques and skills into my practice that means I'm more of an integrative counsellor on the whole. I'm also a mindfulness leader, as well as a soft-tissue therapist (so am interested in incorporating somatic therapy into my work) and I am trained in REWIND technique for processing trauma as well as EFT (tapping) and Ecotherapy (using the outdoors and nature during sessions).

I have a personal interest in all things neurodivergent and have completed autism/ADHD training (as well as attending autism society conferences) to better inform my counselling sessions.

Practice description

So what can you expect from me?

Initially we'll arrange a free, informal 15/20 minute chat either on the phone, online or in person if you prefer. This will be an opportunity for me to let you know who I am and how I work as well as giving you time to ask me any questions and get a feeling for whether I'm the right fit for you.

I approach every new client with the same open mind and empathic ear and will happily refer you on to further services should you need.

My first session

During the first session we'll go through our contract together to make sure we're both comfortable and safe. This should take about 10 minutes and then we'll start on with our counselling session.
