About me and my therapy practice
I am a friendly, down to Earth, non-judgemental, Psychodynamic Therapist, working from a comfortable location between Wickford and Basildon.
This means that we can work at a deep level, identifying unconscious thoughts and processes that are impacting how you feel today. We do this in addition to looking at today’s issues.
Therapy is open ended; I don’t try to sell you blocks of sessions. You continue in therapy for as long as you wish. It's all about providing you with an effective, fully containing service.
I have a master’s degree in Psychodynamic Counselling and am currently in the Doctoral program at the University of Essex, where I am researching matters affecting members of the military and veterans.
For clients who are in the Military, Veterans or part of a Blue Light service, you will find that I speak your language as we share a background. I also offer concessions for people in these groups, along with concessions for trainee counsellors.
Practice description
I offer sessions in several different ways.
• Online
• Face to face
• Walk and Talk
Online therapy became a 'thing' during Covid. Sessions can be held using any number of video conferencing systems, eg Zoom, Teams, Whatsapp, Facetime etc.
I offer this service at times that are suited to you. I also practice from several physical locations so that we can be in the room together. These locations are South Woodham Ferrers CM3, Chelmsford CM1, Colchester CO1 and Wickford SS12.
I adhere to the Code of Ethics from the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). This ensures that you are treated fairly with respect and your needs are foremost in the work that we do.
I also offer walk and talk therapy, where we meet up and conduct our sessions in the fresh air. These are very popular with military and blue light clients.
Your sessions are confidential. I regularly see a clinical supervisor in order to ensure that my practice is focussing on you and your needs.
I don't use jargon and make no assumptions about your knowledge of what is going on. We use our time to thoroughly examine aspects of your life and how you are experiencing it.
My first session
Before our first proper session, we have a free 30 minute telephone call so that I can understand a little about you. We can cover any needs or concerns that you might have about therapy.
The first session itself is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and discover whether you would like to continue with me. We will cover some medical history and then we speak about what is going on with yourself and why you have come to therapy. We can identify things to be worked on and think about any goals you may have.

Abuse, ADD / ADHD, Addictions, AIDS/HIV, Anger management, Anxiety, Autism spectrum, Bereavement, Cancer, Child related issues, Chronic fatigue syndrome / ME, Cultural issues, Depression, Disability, Eating disorders, Health related issues, Identity issues, Infertility, Loss, Menopause, Men's issues, Mood disorder, Neurodiversity, Obsessions, OCD, Personal development, Phobias, Post-traumatic stress, Pregnancy related issues, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Self-harm, Sensory impairment, Service veterans, Sex-related issues, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Spirituality, Stress, Substance Dependency, Trauma, Women's issues, Work related issues

About me and my therapy practice
I am a friendly, down to Earth, non-judgemental, Psychodynamic Therapist. This means that we can work at a deep level and start getting to the root of what is going on. It is my aim to give the best service that I can, to make sure that you feel heard. Therapy is open ended, we do not set a finish date. However that doesn't mean there is an obligation on you to remain. It's all about providing you with a fully containing service.
For clients who are in the Military, Veterans or part of a blue light service, you will find that I speak your language as we share a background. I have been around the block. I also offer concessions for people in these groups, along with concessions for trainee counsellors.
