About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I'm James, a really friendly qualified and accredited Counsellor born and raised in Yorkshire. I offer you the space to work at your own pace, to truly hear what it is that you are saying, to be someone who walks alongside you, gently checking meaning and guiding you to your own revelations, learning and understanding. I believe that figuring things out this way is the most empowering and lasting way to remove your roadblocks. In a sense, you already hold the answers… we just need to figure them out together.
And so it is my hope that we can build and share in a therapeutic relationship that offers us the opportunity to not only work with your challenges, but also celebrate your victories. Both tears and smiles are welcome here. I’m hugely passionate about providing 1:1 empathic space and hold a Distinction in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy.
As human beings, none of us are identical, and we all have a unique and beautiful story to tell... or to discover. Whether you choose to work with me online or in person, I offer a cosy, welcoming, friendly space that is free of judgement for us to gently explore what’s holding you back or keeping you down.

Practice description
Whilst I work with a wide range of challenges, I see many clients who might be struggling with anxiety, self confidence issues and / or depression. During our initial sessions, we will talk about what matters most to you, gently searching for answers that help you get to where you want to be. Most of my clients see an improvement after the first session with the effects growing alongside our developing professional relationship.
My first session
Our first session together will be relaxed and at your pace. Any formal paperwork required for us to work together has been streamlined to make it as quick and easy as possible to complete. This will most likely be in place before our first session together in order that we can concentrate the full therapeutic hour on therapeutic work, helping you get to where you want to be.
