I offer face-to-face sessions on Mondays, Tuesday and Sundays and online counselling on Monday and Tuesday evening.
Monday sessions take place in Locksbottom, Orpington, where you'll find a calm, confidential space with free on-site parking close to the Princess Royal Hospital and A21.
Tuesday and Sunday morning therapy sessions take place in the Old Town Hall in Bromley Town Centre. A relaxing, confidential dedicated counselling space, accessible by bus, train and car (parking in nearby town centre car parks). This setting has step-free access.
About me and my therapy practice
I'm an integrative counsellor with extensive experience supporting clients with issues such as bereavement, addiction, disability, health diagnoses (including cancer and dementia), domestic abuse and relationship and family difficulties.
It's not uncommon for these issues to create stress, anxiety and depression and unhelpful coping mechanisms around sleep, food, gambling, hoarding and self harm and I use person-centred qualities of warmth, empathy and understanding to help my clients to work through their issues without judgement.
Alongside a person-centred approach I borrow from other modalities to explore early experiences, patterns of relating, social isolation, areas of self esteem and relationship dynamics and how these may impact the present day. I also use my experience working in communications to help clients to identify patterns in their lives that are holding them back from living the life they want to lead and to be the true and authentic versions of themselves.
It has been an honour and a privilege to work with a rich and diverse range of clients to date and I'm committed to continuous professional development.
Practice description
Clients describe my sessions as enlightening for them. I offer warmth, acceptance and empathy to clients as we work together to unpick whatever it is you need to bring in a confidential space.
Client feedback tells me that I am warm and engaging and sessions feel safe and contained. I work ethically with honesty and integrity and use a mixture of skills and tools to help my clients to make sense of old and repeated patterns of thinking and behaving and to challenge unhelpful coping mechanisms to enable positive change.
My first session
Our first session will be a little different to subsequent counselling sessions as I'll do more talking than usual during the assessment phase. This is so that I can understand a bit about you, your background and your expectations of sessions. Some people require me to explain a bit about counselling is – and isn't – if they haven't engaged in therapy before. We will also discuss ways of working, boundaries and other aspects of the contract under which we'll work together.
I offer a free 20-minute phone consultation to prospective clients so we can get a sense of whether we'd be able to form a beneficial therapeutic relationship if we agree to work together.
