About me and my therapy practice
Thoughtful and compassionate counselling to help you gain clarity and insight, paving the way for a more fulfilling and empowered life.
I take a humanistic therapeutic approach for adults suffering emotional distress or seeking personal growth and self-improvement. Working together to uncover the underlying beliefs and emotions that contribute to your tension, which may be preventing you from fully embracing your potential.
I am passionate about a non-directive client-led approach. We spend our lives having values and rules imposed upon us, so I won't advise you on how you should live your life. Instead, I will accompany you and hold space so we can find the healing and growth you seek. When you talk with someone who knows how to listen, understand, and support you, you uncover parts of yourself that can be tough to discover alone.
Counselling is a third career chapter for me. Initially, I trained as a steelworker at a local shipyard before studying graphic design. I ran a small creative studio for many years and now offer business-focused counselling and mentoring to directors and small teams. I was often told that I'm easy to talk to, a key factor that drew me to volunteering roles which ignited a desire to change course once more and become a counsellor.
Some (but not all) of the common areas I work with include abuse, anxiety, bereavement, depression, identity, self-worth, loss, personal development, redundancy, relationships, self-esteem, stress, shame, trauma and issues at work.
