About me and my therapy practice
Hi, my name is Diane and I'm an integrative counsellor/psychotherapist.
Starting counselling can be daunting. You may know exactly what you want to work on or simple know that something needs to change but you're not sure what or how. I work with clients to help them set and work towards there own goals. This can be something specific or simple to feel less anxious or gain clarity on their life.
There's no rules on what to bring to counselling. If something is having a negative impact on how you feel and live your life, then its important and worth talking about.
Whether it's past experiences you want to work through and understand, present issues, or anxiety about the future, I offer a safe, confidential space, free of judgement and full of kindness.
We'll work together and at your pace to explore the topics and events that are important to you.
Practice description
I am an Integrative Counsellor which means I incorporate different theoretical approaches into my practice. However, my main practice is Person Centered and this informs all my work. This means I work hard to understand my clients unique frame of reference, to build a strong therapeutic relationship where my clients feel able to express themselves fully, and to help my clients discover who they truly are.
As an Integrative Counsellor, I believe there is not one therapeutic approach that suits all clients in all situations. Instead, I take into account your unique experiences and circumstances and use elements of different approaches to help you work through your problems. I will adapt my approach to meet your needs.
My first session
I offer a free initial phone call of around 10-20 minutes to talk through your issues and make sure what I offer is right for you.

I offer open ended therapy. This consists of a 50 minute session at the same time each week. This can last anything from 6 weeks to many years depending on clients needs. There's no time limit on healing.
I occasionally have space available for 'one off' sessions. This works best for those that have experienced therapy before and have something specific they want to bring to a session. But in general I recommend clients commit to a minimum of 6 sessions to get a true feel of the process and how therapy can help bring about positive change.

I offer a free initial telephone call of around 10-20 minutes so you can discuss why you would like Counselling and see whether what I offer is right for you.
