About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified integrative counsellor and a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). My qualifications include:
Level 4 Diploma in Integrative Counselling CPCAB
Levels 1-3 Counselling skills
BSc Hons Degree in Psychology, Birkbeck, University of London (BPS recognised).
It can be difficult to understand how and why we feel certain emotions as well as how we behave. It can feel lonely when we don’t know what it is we need or want. I am friendly, honest, empathetic and passionate about supporting others. I have worked with clients dealing with a range of challenges, such as trauma, abuse, grief & loss, sexual violence, sexuality and victims of crime.
I am an integrative counsellor and use a blend of modalities which are psychodynamic and person centred. This means we will talk through how past experiences may influence your thoughts, feelings and behaviour. I don’t have the answers and won’t tell you what to do, but I will be with you as you explore what you need for yourself.
Practice description
Telling our story can be daunting and sometimes we don't know what kind of setting is right for us.
I like to give my clients the choice of where they feel most comfortable talking to me, whether that may be in the comfort of their own home online or face to face so I offer different styles.
Counselling doesn't always have to be sitting directly opposite someone in a room. Perhaps you would find it easier to express your feelings while walking with them side by side. If you prefer this style of counselling, join me on a walk & talk. I also offer online and telephone counselling.
Sometimes we can feel a bit lost or isolated and sitting with and expressing feelings can empower us to move forward and accept ourselves. I am here through those challenging times while you decide what you need. I would be delighted to work with you.
My first session
I offer a free introductory 15-minute telephone consultation, giving you the chance to decide if my counselling approach is right for you before committing to ongoing sessions as well as discussing the setting you prefer and what is more appropriate for your needs.
