About me and my therapy practice

My name is Ella (she/her) and I am a qualified Relational, Integrative Counsellor. I am a registered member of the BACP and I adhere to their ethical framework.

I qualified from the Integrative Counselling Masters at Leeds Beckett University. My passion has always being to work with people in a supporting role. As a Relational Counsellor, the therapeutic relationship is very important to me, feeling comfortable with your Counsellor is a vital part. I offer a safe space, free from judgement for you to explore your thoughts and feelings. My aim is to support you to feel authentic and feel empowered over how you choose to live your life and your choices. I offer an Integrative approach which means I will draw on a range of tools and approaches to best meet your needs during the therapy.

My experience before going into Counselling was Support work for Adults with Learning disabilities, also I worked as a Special Educational needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant working closely with children and young people with diverse needs, including physical disabilities, ADHD and, Autism. My background of working with neurodiversity within adults and young people has helped support my current Counselling role and practice.

-Self-esteem/confidence

I can offer short or long term therapy, sessions can vary from 6, to open-ended.

My first session

The first counselling session can bring mixed feelings for individuals, to help put your mind at ease, the first session is about us getting to know one another, and this can be done at your pace.  In the first session we will also go through a contract together if it this has not already been completed through email.

Before the first session, I offer a free initial 15 minute phone call, to talk about the reasons you may be looking for therapy and to find out how I can best support you. It is also a chance to explore whether we both feel the therapeutic relationship will be a good fit, after the first session there is no obligation to continue to work with me, it needs to feel right for yourself and that is what is important.
