About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I’m Megan, a qualified integrative counsellor and therapist.

Throughout our lives we gain beliefs about who we are, perhaps how we ‘should’ be. Sometimes we can find ourselves repeating the same patterns, unsure of where they come from, not knowing how to free ourselves. We will work together to help you gain curiosity, awareness and compassion for these patterns and behaviours and find what’s right for you.

I firmly believe that having a time each week just for you to connect with how you're truly feeling is invaluable. Wherever you’re at in your life, I offer a safe space that is gentle, non-judgemental and compassionate to support you to go deeper with your feelings and find self-acceptance. I know the value of listening empathically to all of another’s experience and I believe this is an essential part of the therapy process. I offer a space in which you can be heard in this way.

Practice description

My approach is integrative which means I use different skills and modalities. Every client is unique so I will cater to your needs accordingly.

I work relationally which means that one of the most important parts of the therapy is the relationship between us.  I believe that a strong, trusting relationship between therapist and client is vital to achieve positive change.

I work in a creative, collaborative and intuitive way, which involves attuning to what you bring to the therapy process. My therapeutic approach is LGBTQ+ affirmative, trauma-informed and anti-racist.

My first session

I offer a 20 minute no cost, no obligation telephone consultation to discuss what you’re looking for from therapy and to see whether we would be the right fit. In this time it’s a chance for you to ask any questions you may want to know about the process. If we decide to go ahead we will organise a weekly 50 minute session.
