About me and my therapy practice

Please note, currently I work with women only. Sorry for any inconvenience.

If you’re looking for someone to walk with you down the road of life during tough times; heartbreak, disappointment, despair, loss, change, recovery, grief, liberation, burnout, sleepless nights, overwhelm, loneliness and soul-searching, I am hear to listen, to meet you in those difficult and painful places and share my tools to support you to find your way.

I’ve loved and studied psychology (especially Jungian), holistic living and healing for over 20 years. I worked therapeutically with clients first as a masseuse and aromatherapist in 2008. That evolved into a passion for teaching dance and yoga, talking therapies and coaching. In 2015 I trained as a yoga teacher, emotional freedom technique and NLP practitioner. These skills were and remain valuable though I needed a deeper dive, so did my MSc in Applied positive psychology and coaching psychology in 2020. Alongside this I did my levels 2, 3 & 4 in therapeutic trauma-informed counselling. Both integrated various schools of psychology but were primarily person-centred and humanistic. During these 4 years and much client work, I clarified my areas of passion and expertise. Alongside these qualifications I study and work with attachment theory, 12 step co-dependency fellowship, childhood emotional neglect, complex trauma, adult children of emotionally immature parents, recovery after abuse, empowered feminine archetypes, healthy sexuality, menstrual health, trauma-informed conflict resolution and non-violent communication.

I'm an experienced and professionally insured Tarot reader and Astrologer, both systems have been powerful transpersonal and spiritual tools for over 20 years. I perform as a singer, musician and DJ, run community & music events, study Tibetan Buddhism and earth-based religions, walk in ancient woodlands and on wild beaches and teach yoga.

For a full list of my qualifications, please see me website.

Practice description

Relational depth, compassion, warmth and transformational psycho-education are the heart of my practice. My aim is to support you to move through and beyond your challenges and create a meaningful and fulfilling life, whatever this looks like for you. I spent a lot of my life developing these skills informally before I realised it as a professional pathway. I do this work because I love it and its my calling in life.

I work with clients to first understand what brings them to therapy, their needs, hopes and history with therapy and self-healing/ exploration. I then invite clients to share their story in whatever capacity suits them. Based on this we can then decide together our way of working, this is a collaborative process. Pace, depth and areas of exploration are varied depending on the client’s needs and current state as in line with person-centred values. I am non-directive generally, though if I see a client is severely stuck I will bring this up for reflection and introduce compassionate challenges to unhealthy patterns. I very much believe in Carl Rogers core conditions of empathy, unconditional positive regard and congruence.

Clients who I have the most to offer include (but are not all limited to) those struggling with or working through issues around:

Dysfunctional relationships, co-dependency, survivors of and recovery from psychological, emotional, narcissistic & cult abuse, adult children of dysfunctional families, complex PTSD and childhood PTSD, PMS and menstrual cycle health imbalances, existential and spiritual crisis, creating healthier habits, self-care, self-parenting, people pleasing, depression, anxiety, toxic shame, somatic recovery, creative and artistic recovery and development.

If this sounds like i could be helpful to you please do get in touch. I meet my clients where they are at and for who they are, supporting them in their uniqueness in their personal approach to healing and thriving 😊

My first session

Before our first session, we can talk for 15 minutes on a video call to see if we might be a good fit.  Following this i will send you a contract to read through and sign if you are happy with it.

We then arrange a time to meet weekly and explore at a pace that works for you, what it is that you are wanting to bring to therapy.

Sessions are online via zoom and i very much encourage you to be in a safe, comfortable and reassuring space, where you can use the time to connect with and nourish yourself.
