About me and my therapy practice
Are you tired of feeling not good enough? Do you struggle to build healthy relationships? Or maybe you’re going through a period of transition in your life and finding it hard to cope?
Facing challenges in life, particularly when it feels like they come from within, is never easy. However, we also have so much resilience, courage and wisdom inside of us. Talking to someone who listens to us in a non-judgemental way such as a therapist can help bring out those parts of ourselves.
My name is Geanina, I’m a qualified counsellor and I will offer you a warm and safe space in which you can explore your current challenges. My approach is gentle, caring and sensitive to your needs. I will walk alongside you and support you in gaining insights on yourself, on your feelings and on your patterns of behaviour. Together we will look at how your past may be getting in the way of your mental well-being and growth in the present. With increased awareness, shifts will begin to happen within you that will have a positive impact on your life outside of therapy. Some therapy outcomes can be: increased clarity, confidence, self-acceptance and overall a feeling of empowerment to make changes in your life.
Practice description
My training is in Psychosynthesis which is a psychology of hope that believes that we can use our struggles in life as stepping stones towards growth, creativity and a more authentic connection with our purpose. It believes that in order to heal we need to bring awareness not only to our wounds from the past, but also to what calls us forward in life — our desire for meaning.
My first session
We will start with a free 20 minute call where we will explore what brings you to therapy as well as what you hope to get from our work together. At this point you may choose to book further sessions, but there is no pressure for you to do so. I believe it’s very important that you work with a therapist that you feel comfortable with and I encourage you to speak to a few practitioners before you decide.
Once we decide to work together, our first full session will be 50 minutes long. In this session I will ask you more in depth questions about yourself and about your history that might be relevant to your current challenges.
