About me and my therapy practice

I am a fully qualified integrative counsellor. My core theory is person-centred; however, I also rely on Transactional analysis and Attachment theory to assist and support my work by ensuring that I respond to each and every client in a unique way. This requires the bringing together of different concepts from multiple theories and techniques.

Learning about oneself can often feel like untangling knots, especially if the journey isn't a straightforward or a simple one; therefore, having an emotionally safe and supportive relationship for such a process is crucial.

Everyone’s journey is different and unique to them, as are the experiences and responses of each of us. I understand the enormous impact that trauma can have. My own personal process of self-discovery has not only informed my approach to therapy but has also deepened my capacity to provide empathy & authenticity to my clients.

It can be difficult to find someone who genuinely listens to us when we are trying to communicate how we feel, particularly if we are afraid of burdening our loved ones. Past experiences can also have a significant impact on us, and the weight of expectations from others can feel truly crushing at times. Sadly, having these thoughts only contributes to feelings of isolation and disconnection from oneself and others, causing us to feel incredibly lonely.

With that in mind, I recognise that taking the first step towards seeking help requires courage and can be one of the hardest decisions to make. In view of this, I strive to establish a nonjudgmental and respectful environment wherein my clients can openly and honestly explore their thoughts and feelings in a confidential and accepting environment.

Based on genuine empathy and openness, I offer an in-depth and helpful understanding as to why, as individuals, we might do certain things or act in particular ways.

Our sessions will focus on your unique issues and how these may be impacting you and your relationships.

Practice description

I believe that the therapeutic relationship can provide you with an opportunity to take stock of things and gain a clearer insight into yourself, your problems, and your life. It can assist you to understand what’s really happening and why that is, before deciding for yourself if there are any changes you’d like to make.

I work in a non-judgemental and respectful manner, in accordance with the requirements set out in the BACP ethical framework.

I offer face-to-face, telephone, or Zoom/Teams counselling.

My main objective is to support you with whatever you are feeling. I am extremely committed to promoting diversity, equality, and inclusion. I appreciate that everyone's experiences and needs are different and are determined by their unique cultural, societal, and personal backgrounds.

I work with adults as well as with neurodiversity and neurological diversity adults and those who identify as LGBTQ+.

The very fact that you are visiting this website suggests that you are seeking some kind of support. You may be feeling anxious, depressed, dealing with trauma, or struggling with something else in your life that is affecting your emotional well-being.

My approach is to actively respond to whatever your unique issues are by supporting you in recognising for yourself what it is you truly desire or genuinely need, something that doesn’t always seem readily apparent at first. Working together in this way, I feel, enhances the healing process while also promoting resilience and, as a result, encourages personal growth.

I work with adults who are experiencing:

Abuse, Anger, Anxiety, Bereavement, Cultural issues, Depression, Health-related issues, Identity issues, Loss, Men's/Women’s issues, OCD, Personal development, Post-Traumatic Stress, Redundancy, Relationships, Self-esteem, Self-harm, Sex-related problems, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Stress, Trauma, Women's issues, Work-related issues, Spirituality, & Spiritual/Religious trauma, where I have firsthand experience.
