About me and my therapy practice
You may feel anxious, depressed, vulnerable, angry or confused. Maybe you want to talk to a counsellor for a specific issue or you might not know why things just don't feel right in your life. There are no right or wrong reasons to see a counsellor. I am a person-centred integrative counsellor. This means that I focus on each client and that each client is unique. Therefore, the way in which we would work together, is to discover what you need to help explore what you bring. There is no one size fits all or 'diagnosis'. You are not a 'patient' you are a client.
'I felt heard and validated which was completely nourishing and helped me to trust my own self and my intuition, something I have always struggled with. Working with Lucie was invigorating and has left me feeling positive and empowered'.
I offer a 15 minute free phone chat to see if you feel you would like to work with me. It is very important you feel that a counsellor is a good 'fit' and on your wave length. Additionally, I would let you know if I didn't feel like I was the right person for your needs.
Practice description
Whatever stage you feel you are at, I offer you space and acceptance and I will listen openly to you without judgement. We will work together exploring what you bring. I work with you to reflect on realisations that enable you to find ways forward to engage with life and those around you. I have found that for many of my clients issues of loss and self-esteem are extremely painful, impacting lives, sometimes for many years. There are numerous and individual reasons for these feelings.
'My only wish would be that I could spend an hour every week with Lucie. I feel so much better than when I first came to see her. She was completely on my wavelength'.
I am particularly experienced in the areas of -
Bereavement (current and historic) through work as a Bereavement counsellor at St Wilfrids and St Michaels Hospice.
Adoption (Independent adoption panel member for ).
At Counselling Plus I have worked with diverse clients who come to counselling from all backgrounds with many different issues.
My first session
I don't ask my clients to complete an assessment. In an initial 15 minute phone chat before we start to work together, we will have shared basic details of what you are looking for from counselling.
We take it from there.
I provide a compassionate, safe, professional, confidential space for you to share whatever you feel you need to. I then work with you to find a clearer, less difficult path.
