About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Becca
I don't use cheesy quotes or confusing terms, and I like to swear sometimes.
I'll help you become aware of why you behave the way you do and find coping techniques which actually work for you. You'll learn new things about yourself with easy to understand diagrams and useful mental health insight.
We'll find the right answers for you and help you get back to where you want to be. You'll understand yourself better, to apply all this to your everyday life so you don't need me anymore - after all, you probably don't want to be in therapy forever.
I’m trained in multiple therapies so I can choose the right elements of each to fit your situation and what you need.
My approaches focus on:
- linking your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and behaviours
- the importance of your relationships throughout life
- exploring your needs, and your identity and making the changes you want
- understanding the mind-body link
We will always follow your pace and I’ll never push you before you’re ready. Counselling and therapy are not about giving advice on how to live your life, instead we'll work out the right answers for you.
Practice description
My qualifications and training:
- Masters in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy
- Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy
- Postgraduate Certificate in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy
- Compassion-Focussed Therapy Training
- Rape, Sexual Assault and Domestic Abuse Training
My first session
A first session is about understanding your situation and seeing whether we're a good fit for each other. I'll give you some info about me, explain what we'll go through in the session and ask you a few questions.
I may make a few basic notes about what you say to get an overall view of you - but if you dont want to answer any questions I ask, of course that's no problem. After the session, I'll email you all the practical information you need if you decide you want to go ahead with sessions.
My first session is free and no obligation, and if you don't want to continue we can explore alternative support options for you.
