About me and my therapy practice

I work in an integrative manner, drawing from various theories and methods of therapy.

The foundation of our work will be a warm, empathic understanding and acceptance that I will strive to communicate to you throughout our sessions. I will listen intently and sincerely try to understand your experience from your perspective. This approach allows us to open up and examine your issues together, helping you gain a better understanding and feel more in control of your thoughts and emotions in moments of anxiety, depression, self-doubt, shame, relational problems or other difficulties.

Working with me can assist you in understanding the origins and functions of behaviours you find problematic, such as excessive drinking, anger and conflicts, worrying and others. We will discuss and collaboratively decide on the best ways to explore your issues and how to address them, depending on what suits you best.

I have extensive training in several therapeutic methods, including:

- Two-chair and empty-chair work

- Emotional processing

- Mindfulness-based exercises

- Micro-analysis of your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in challenging situations (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)

- Timeline creation (your life story)

- Dream analysis

- And others

Sometimes, it’s helpful to explore what is happening between us in the moment—this "here and now" dynamic can provide insights into your deeper unconscious processes and patterns of relating to others.

I hold a 1st Class Honours degree in Counselling and Therapeutic Practice and I currently work in private practice as well as for a low-cost counselling agency.

Practice description

I offer online and in person sessions and the work can be long or short-term.

Counselling provides a 'breathing space' — a unique environment that is somewhat separate from everyday life. In this safe 'container' you are free to examine any thoughts, feelings, or experiences without facing any consequences. I am not affected by your feelings, thoughts or words in the same way as your family, friends, colleagues or partners might be. I have no interest in judging you or your thoughts or feelings. I simply accompany you on your journey of exploration.

My first session

After an initial free phone consultation (approx. 15mins) we will arrange the first session.

The first session lasts a full hour. During this time, we will discuss your hopes for therapy and the issues you'd like to address. This will be done at a pace and in a manner that feels right for you, and I will provide as much guidance as you need.

The fee for the first session is £50. If we decide to continue working together after this session, the fee for each subsequent session, lasting 50–55 minutes, will be £65.
