About me and my therapy practice
Life can be tough sometimes. I know how painful it can be. You do not need to suffer alone. I imagine you are here because you need help to understand or cope with something that is going on in your life right now, either personally or in the world around you. I offer you a warm, safe, and confidential space to talk, to be heard, and to be taken seriously. Together we can find a way through whatever is happening and however you are feeling.
I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor and therapist who has worked with people of all ages, diverse identities, and backgrounds. I recognise that people have different needs, and therefore provide affordable private online therapy sessions to individuals on a long-term and short-term basis.
I am an integrative therapist, meaning that I use a number of approaches when working with clients. I believe that one size does not fit all, and so my approach offers flexibility to suit you as an individual and your individual needs.
Practice description
My approach is a combination of person-centred (not here to tell you what to do), psychodynamic (how your history may be impacting your present-day life), cognitive behaviour techniques (immediate coping strategies and awareness of behaviours, which generally includes homework so that therapy continues outside of the session), and trauma-informed therapy (looking at how trauma impacts and blocks us and ways of being a little kinder to oneself following adverse events).
Some clients come to see me because of anxiety and stress or are struggling with a lack of confidence and low self-esteem. Others come to therapy with relationship issues, such as, workplace challenges, loneliness, breakups, or loss. Sometimes, people come for personal development, feeling lost, stuck, or powerless. And some clients simply want more out of life.
Using a straightforward style, I tailor my approach to allow your needs to guide our work. At your own pace, we will address the cause of your distress and the behaviour patterns that are limiting your progress.
