About me and my therapy practice
I offer in-person face-to-face counselling sessions. My counselling sessions are person-centred, which means that we work together at a pace that meets your needs and feels comfortable to you.
I believe that the quality of our therapeutic relationship is key to determining how well we work together. By offering a caring therapeutic relationship that is built on trust, openness and understanding, I aim to provide you with an environment that feels secure and confidential, and where you feel accepted, valued and respected, and safe enough to talk about and explore your issues.
I can help you to make sense of the things that are causing you distress and your thoughts and feelings about them. Talking about your problems in a safe, non-judgemental space can help you to find your inner strength to take control of them and to work out how to make changes to improve your life.
Practice description
I am trained and qualified at postgraduate level 7 in person-centred counselling.
I am a fully registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and my work is guided by the BACP code of ethics.
Before going into private practice I worked as a volunteer counsellor at a local charitable organisation.
My first session
Our first session is a free 30 minute in-person session to get to know each other and to see if you feel comfortable talking with me. This also allows me to find out more about your situation and gives us the opportunity to discuss your needs and what you would like to get out of counselling. After that, if you would like to continue, sessions are 60 minutes and can be weekly, fortnightly, or whatever works best for you.
I offer a calm and comfortable space for face-to-face sessions in my office in Lancaster. My aim is to make sure you feel heard and understood, and to support you with sensitivity, warmth and compassion.
I welcome enquiries from young adults (18-24), adults and older adults (65+).
If you have any questions about my counselling service or would like to make an appointment, please contact me by email through the link above.
