About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I’m Emma, a BACP-registered therapist committed to providing compassionate, professional, and tailored therapy to individuals seeking emotional well-being and personal growth. With many years of experience, I offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and challenges.

I believe in a collaborative and client-centered approach, which means we work together to identify your goals and address the issues impacting your life. My practice is integrative, blending therapeutic models such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior therapy (DBT) to best suit your unique needs. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, or relationship difficulties, I’m here to support you every step of the way.

Empathy, respect, and empowerment are at the core of my work. I aim to help you tap into your inner strengths and develop practical coping strategies for lasting change. Therapy is a journey of self-discovery and healing, and my role is to guide you in understanding yourself better and creating a life that aligns with your values.

As a BACP-registered counsellor, I adhere to the highest standards of professional ethics, ensuring that your privacy and well-being are always protected. If you’re ready to take the next step, I offer an initial consultation where we can discuss your needs and see how we can work together

Practice description

Welcome to my therapy practice. I offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space where you can explore your feelings, thoughts, and experiences at your own pace. My practice is grounded in the belief that everyone has the capacity for growth and change, but sometimes we need guidance and support to overcome life’s challenges. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, or relationship issues, my goal is to help you find clarity, healing, and balance.

I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches, including CBT, ACT, DBT and mindfulness-based techniques. This allows me to tailor our sessions to your unique needs and goals, providing a personalized therapy experience. I believe therapy should be a collaborative process, where we work together to identify patterns, explore emotions, and develop practical strategies for positive change.

Empathy, respect, and openness are at the heart of my practice. I understand that starting therapy can feel overwhelming, and my aim is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported. We will go at a pace that feels right for you, and I will guide you in discovering your strengths, building resilience, and fostering self-awareness.

As a BACP-registered therapist, I adhere to strict ethical standards, ensuring that your privacy and well-being are always my priority. Our work together will remain confidential, and I am committed to creating a trusting and safe environment throughout our sessions.

If you’re ready to start your journey toward emotional well-being, please reach out to schedule an initial consultation. I look forward to supporting you in finding greater peace, understanding, and fulfillment

My first session

In our first session, my goal is to create a comfortable, supportive environment where you can begin sharing your story. This session is slightly different from regular sessions, as it’s an opportunity for us to get to know each other and see how we might work together. I will ask some general questions about your background, current challenges, and what brings you to therapy, but there’s no pressure to disclose more than you feel comfortable with.

During this first meeting, we’ll discuss your goals for therapy and any specific outcomes you hope to achieve. This helps us set the direction for our work together and ensures that our sessions align with your personal objectives. I also take the time to explain the practical aspects of therapy, such as confidentiality, session structure, and my approach, so you feel fully informed.

Additionally, I may ask you to complete a brief assessment, either before or during the session, to help me better understand your needs and ensure that we tailor the therapy to your specific situation. This assessment isn’t a test but rather a way for us to gain more insight into your emotional and mental health, making our work more focused and effective from the start.

At the end of the session, you’ll have the opportunity to ask any questions or raise any concerns. If you feel comfortable moving forward, we can schedule our next session and begin your therapeutic journey
