About me and my therapy practice

I offer a compassionate, non-judgmental and confidential space to do the 'work' of counselling. Counselling can give you time and space to be heard and to tell your story. It can support you to understand how you have got to where you are in your life, who you are and what you value. It can help you to decide what direction you want to go in, and what steps you would like to take first.

Whether you are facing challenges in your relationships, struggles with mental health, or want to focus on identity and life transitions, my approach is centred around you and your experiences. I am experienced in different ways of working as a counsellor, and will tailor our sessions to fit your needs. Alongside this, I have expertise in working with autistic individuals and am committed to giving neurodivergent individuals the best possible experience of counselling.

Regular sessions are typically 50 minutes long, and take place on a weekly basis at the same time, either online or in-person at Station Road Counselling in the centre of Didcot. I work in an open-ended way, which means that there is no minimum length of time you need to see me for, and I won't decide that we are finished after a certain number of sessions - it is something that you are in control of and that we would discuss together.

My first session

The most important aspect of therapy is that you find the right counsellor for you. If you are interested in working with me you can book a free 30-minute online call. We can discuss what brings you to counselling, you can ask me any questions you might have, and we can explore if I am the right counsellor to you. If you decide that you would like to work with me, we could then choose to start regular work together.

In the first session we would discuss what has prompted you to seek counselling and what you would like to achieve through the counselling process. We would also talk very generally about your history and your current circumstances.
