About me and my therapy practice

You may have found my page because your thoughts and emotions are taking up a lot of space, making relationships difficult, keeping you from getting a restful night's sleep or doing the things you enjoy - I want to help.

I have supported lots of people to make positive changes so that they can lead their lives with more comfort and joy again. I will create space for you to explore, understand, and find a sense of belonging, supporting you to embrace the changes you've been wanting to make.

How can I help you?

I truly understand that searching for the right therapist can be a daunting process, so I want to help paint a picture of what our sessions would look like together.

We will work together in a human-to-human way, building a supportive space of trust, working collaboratively towards your goals. We will look to find self-awareness, clarity and understanding of who you are and how you relate to others.

With healing and growth at the centre of our work, I will work with you to overcome challenges and find purpose and meaning. We will explore your identity and true self, finding answers and supporting you to embrace the changes you've been wanting to make.

I work integratively with psychodynamic, existential and relational foundations. We'll explore what's going on for you, looking at your past, unconscious, attachment styles and defence mechanisms. We will see how your past has shaped you into the person you are today, all the while looking to strengthen your own inner therapist tools to give you more confidence to work through life's challenges independently. We might try creative or mindfulness activities to do this holistically.

My values

I believe we all have the capacity for growth, healthy change, and to love our wonderful authentic selves. I trust my clients are the experts in themselves and their lives, providing a space that is inclusive and understanding of your differences. I look forward to connecting with you and starting your therapy journey together.

Practice description

Meetings

I offer online sessions in the comfort of your chosen therapeutic space, using Google Meets.

Qualifications

I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, awarded by the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB). I hold additional certification in breathwork and regularly attend CPD training - recent topics include domestic abuse, intersectionality, and hallucinations.

Experience and specialisms

My specialism is working with people going through significant life changes, wanting to make sense of everything going on and find a sense of deeper meaning in their busy, sometimes overwhelming lives. Some of the areas I have worked with include:

  • Mood/mental health: Anxiety, depression, stress, low mood, feeling sad, low self-esteem or low confidence, loneliness, trauma, perfectionism, fear, jealousy, guilt, shame
  • Identity: Exploration of gender or sexuality, feeling lost, feelings of otherness, searching for community, spirituality, connection, sense of belonging
  • Relationships: Affairs, attachment issues and disorders, abuse, endings, relationship diversity, LGBTQIA+, carer support, young carers, communication, social anxiety, relationships at work
  • Neurodiversity: Autism, ADHD, AuDHD, discovering neurodiversity in adulthood, going through the diagnostic process, learning difficulties
  • Bereavement: Loss, grief, losing a parent
  • Health: Health anxiety, chronic illness (e.g. ME/CFS, Long Covid), living with disabilities

My first session

Getting started

You will likely have questions you want to ask about counselling, so we would first meet for an initial 50-minute session to talk through your needs and goals together and explore what it would look like to start working together.

If you would like to start working together, we would then meet at the same time and day each week for 50 minutes. We'll regularly check in with how you're finding the sessions and whether there is anything you feel we've missed that you'd like to be working on, to make sure you're getting the most from the work.

Investment

  • Initial sessions: £45
  • Weekly sessions thereafter: £70

If you have any questions about the cost of sessions, please let me know in our initial session - I occasionally have reduced-fee slots available for people on lower incomes.

Number of sessions

I generally work on a long-term and open-ended basis, but if this feels too much for you, we can start with 6 sessions and whether you'd like to continue after. 6 sessions allows for the therapeutic relationship to begin to develop with a little more depth, but it might feel like the right fit from the beginning!

What I can help with

ADD / ADHD, Anxiety, Autism spectrum, Bereavement, Chronic fatigue syndrome / ME, Depression, Disability, Health related issues, Identity issues, LGBTQ+ counselling, Loss, Neurodiversity, Personal development, Relationships, Self esteem, Sensory impairment, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Spirituality, Stress, Trauma, Women's issues, Work related issues

About me and my therapy practice

Are your thoughts and emotions are taking up a lot of space, making relationships difficult, keeping you from getting a restful night's sleep or doing the things you enjoy? I want to help.

How can I help you?

I know searching for the right therapist can be a daunting process, so I want to paint a picture of what our sessions would look like together.

In my practice, I've seen many positive changes come from the power of integrative counselling, enabling people to lead their lives with more comfort and joy again.

I believe our past experiences shape our present. Together, we will create a safe space for you to explore and untangle the threads of your life story, uncovering the hidden patterns that are influencing you today.

I'll be your trusted guide in a collaborative and human-to-human process. With healing and growth at the centre of our work, I will support you to overcome challenges, explore your true identity and find purpose and meaning, embracing the changes you've been wanting to make.

I work integratively with psychodynamic and existential foundations - this means we will:

  • Look to the past and how this has shaped you into the person you are today, how you relate to others, and how you view yourself.
  • Explore what is happening for you today, paying attention to your unique journey in life, unconscious patterns, attachment styles, defence mechanisms and more.

  • Strengthen your inner therapist tools, giving you more confidence to work through life's challenges independently.

  • We'll work to your individuality, trying different creative or mindful activities to find what really works for you.

My values

I believe we all have the capacity for growth, healthy change, and to love our wonderful authentic selves. I trust my clients are the experts in themselves and their lives, providing a space that is inclusive and understanding of your differences. I look forward to connecting with you and starting your therapy journey together.
